The is best program for chat I ever used. It lets you use all the other chat services on one program, has a optional log for all services, and allows skins. Need I say more?
YEA, It's Winamp, the best media player you will ever find, Version 3 has more skin options, but Version 2 is better for lower grade systems (under 1 Ghtz)
