The New Admiral: Prologue

Holly walked into the women's locker room on Silver Flight. The other twelve ships of the fleet came together, meeting at one place in space. All of the Admirals were on board, twelve out of what was supposed to be thirteen. Holly opened a locker where a dark blue training outfit lay folded up.

~flashback~

Kris sat behind her desk, wearing her traditional dark blue shell and black jeans. Bandages were still wrapped around her chest. Kris was barely recovered from her injuries while Holly was almost fully healed. Her long, white hair was unbraided and flowed over her shoulders and around her body

Holly wore a pair of black jeans and a white shirt she borrowed from Kris, the clothes fitting quite nicely since she was only an inch shorter than Kris, and around the same weight. Holly's hair was back into a high ponytail, then tied off into multiple, small braids again.

"There are four types of uniforms," Kris said, leaning forward in her chair and pushing her glasses up slightly. "During the time when you are not in a meeting of any form with any colony or earth official, you are allowed to wear casual clothes, like you are seeing me wearing."

Holly nodded and Kris proceeded. "One uniform you saw me wear is the casual uniform. The jacket, slacks, shirt, tie, and so on. The formal uniform is what you would expect of a military organization. Fancy jackets, shoulder tassels, ranking bars, honorary weapons, the whole nine yards. The last two is one in the same. Your training outfit. For us, the females of the Silver Strikers, one is a sports bra and baggy pants. Another is a tank top and shorts. You can mix and match them any way you want. Any questions?"

Holly nodded. "You some times refer to the fleet as Silver Strikers, and some times as Silver Spirits. What's with that?"

Kris smiled a little. "The name Silver Strikers refers to the whole organization. That means the sister fleet on earth also. It was the original Silver Strikers, and this arm of the organization took up the name of Silver Spirits when I some how survived a Gundam self-destruct out in space, like an angel."

~end flashback~

Holly finished changing, then turned and walked out of the locker room and into the training room. Kris stood in the middle, wearing an outfit of dark blue baggy pants and a dark blue tank top, all outlined in silver. She was talking to a girl with electric green, slanted eyes and brown hair that ended about midback. The other girl wore an outfit similar to Holly's, sports bra and pants, but it was all silvery-white.

The girl acknowledged Holly with a nod and backed up to the wall where two other girls in a similar outfit stood. Around them were about eight men, one of them holding a control of some sort. He walked forward to meet the two females in the middle of the room.

The door slid open and Holly caught a glimpse of the five Gundam Pilots walking in, back in their traditional outfits, but wearing the leather jackets. Heero hold something in his arms that Holly couldn't see because the man called her attention.

"Admiral Esan, fully deactivate your comm-dee."

Kris looked to the girl with the electric green eyes and nodded. The girl pulled out a remote and pressed a button. Then she looked back to the man. "Done, Admiral Night."

Holly blinked. This man was Kris's adopted father. He looked to Holly. "Admiral Esan has deactivated her comm-dee. Doing so, the device is blocking all sound from reaching her right ear. This gives you one advantage. The Admiral is still recovering from her injuries. This gives you another advantage. This is a free-style fight. Some time during the fight, I will activate the zee-gee generator. Look around your surroundings for clues on how to help you in the fight, and use your opponent's weakness against them."

Holly nodded and Dr Nathanial backed away. Immediately, Kris went into a fighting stance, making her body into a smaller target. Holly followed her suit and glared back at the girl. There was some snickering off to the side and Kris risked a glance over. "Watch it or you're next, Mandi."

The snickering immediately and Kris turned her full attention back to Holly. They both studied each other for a minute, then Kris suddenly went into action. She ducked low and spun, trying to knock Holly's feet out from under her.

Holly jumped and did a backflip away from the silver pilot. Kris launched herself at him and Holly lashed out, putting pressure against the girls left shoulder. Kris cried out in pain as she twisted away from the pressure. Holly felt a blow on the back of her head and she suddenly saw stars for a moment.

Holly saw a streamer of white and grabbed it. As Kris felt Holly grab her braid, she grabbed a hold of the older girl's wrist, throwing her across the room.

The blonde girl slid across the floor and stopped. She stood up to see Kris in a crouch, her left hand on the floor while her right hand was out in front of her. Kris glanced behind Holly where the others were at and smiled. She jumped into the air, high enough to touch the ceiling, then pressed off the ceiling with her feet, aiming her straight at Holly.

Holly felt the blow hit her stomach and suddenly she was half way across the room, floating near the ceiling. She blinked in surprise when she saw Kris near the ground, still grinning. Holly decide to drop the defensive act and go into offense.

She pushed off the ceiling and grabbed a hold of Kris's right arm. Kris was surprised that she had nothing to defend herself. She cried out in surprise when she felt her whole right arm go numb.

"Shit! You use pressure points!"

"That's right." Holly spun away from a kick and applied a little pressure to Kris's left arm. She went back into a defensive stance in front of Kris. The silver girl sighed in defeat. "This one goes to Admiral Jenkins."

Holly's eyes went wide as her feet touched the ground. "Admiral. . . Admiral Jenkins?"

Kris nodded. "You've passed the last test. You have superior fighting skills in hand to hand combat and mobile suit combat."

Holly walked back over to Kris and applied a little pressure to both arms. Kris rolled her arms as feeling came back to them. "But I never asked to be an Admiral. All I wanted to do was join your forces."

"We lost one of the Admirals in a space combat. She was one of the best, but she was still shot down. No one felt that they should break up the most powerful team there was in the fleet."

"Most. . . powerful team?"

"Of course." Kris crossed her arms as three girls walked over and stood beside her. The girl with electric green eyes, a girl with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes, and a girl with bright blue eyes and waist length blonde hair. "The powerful females of Silver Strikers. You have become one of the five, Admiral of the ship, Silver Odyssey. Heero Yuy is assigned to your ship."

Kris unfolded her arms and held out her hand palm up. In it was a small, clear device. "Welcome aboard, Admiral Jenkins. Here's your comm-dee and you are now promoted to the color rank of silver."

Holly smiled as she took the comm-dee from the young girl's hand and placed it into her right ear. Heero walked forward and handed her a black leather jacket with the name "Jenkins" over the left pocket, with "Admiral" underneath it. "Thank you, Grand Admiral Esan. Thank you."
