are a platoon in C company 312 MI BN, 1st Cavalry division, in Fort
Hood TX. We fly UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles). Our particular UAV is
called the "Shadow".
The Shadow 600 is an aircraft of about 15ft long and a wing span of 22ft. It can reach altitudes of 16,000ft. It's engine has up to 52 horsepower, and the endurance to fly 12-14 hours. It's max payload is 90lbs.
The Shadow 400 is 12ft long and has a wing span of 17ft. It can reach altitudes of 12,000ft. The endurance is 5 hours. It can be launched from ships or land. It is currently deployed with U.S. allied forces. The Shadow 200 is the smallest. It is 11ft by 13ft. But has a max altitude of 15,000ft and can go for 5-6 hours. It is the choice of the Army. It can recognize tactical vehicles up to 8,000ft abouve ground at more than 3.5k slant range, day or night. |
