Really the third person to become the Rann superhero Gold Man but the second Rannian to be Gold Man. His real name is Jason Strange and the son of human Adam Strange, another superhero of Rann. Jason is one-half human, one-half Rannian. He was sent to Earth by his father at the age of 18 to learn about his father’s world. While there, he discovers the first Gold Man’s power staff, which gave him his powers. Jason used it to become the second Rannian Gold Man and became the thirteenth recruit of the Justice League. The first Gold Man was known as Trey, a Rannian, who in 2051 was injury by an attack from the Earth villains Machine Man and the Metal Men. He transferred his powers to the late human David Jones, who was the best friend of Jack Kent/Superman. David as Gold Man joined Jack’s Team Titans. However, he could not use it for very long due to his incompatible biology. Once, Trey was healed in 2052, he took the powers and fixed some damage done to Earth A by Dr. Geyser before he returned to Rann. Later, David went crazy and was killed in battle against his best friend Jack Kent. Trey was also killed in 2071, when he sacrificed himself to re-ignite the sun after it was eaten by the sun-eater. His power staff then fell to Earth and was found by Jason Strange.
