The H.I.V.E.
The Hierarchy of International Vengeance and Extermination, or H.I.V.E., was a amalgamation of criminal scientists, each of whom had been individually defeated in battle by various super-heroes. Directing a vast army of foot-soldiers all around the world, these hooded and robed individuals have long targeted the likes of Superman and the original JLA. The H.I.V.E. continued to operate, focusing its acts of scientific terrorism on its primary objectives: world domination and the elimination of all Advanced Humans.
However, in 2043, the H.I.V.E became part of an army of super-villains created by Visharon to prevent the first JLA and the Avengers from stopping Timeshaper from taking the Creator's powers. During the battle, H.I.V.E and most of their fellow villains were killed in the nuclear explosion, caused by the death of Captain Atom, that destroyed Coast City.
