Over ten billion years ago, Krona, a scientist among the immortal Maltusian race residing on Oa, defied his people’s warning and devised a machine to help him witness the very beginning of creation. Instead, his experiment flooded the beginning of time with entropic forces, releasing evil throughout not one, but multiple replicated universes, including the antimatter universe of Qward. As punishment, the Maltusians reduced Krona’s form to energy and sent it traveling through the “multiverse,” while they atoned for his crime as the Guardians of the Universe that founded the Green Lantern Corps. Eons later, Krona re-formed himself, thanks to the Crisis, and has since continued his efforts to probe the universe’s origin…no matter what the cost.
