After a three-year hiatus, Namco resurrects its floppy-eared hero for a fabulous quest that’s filled with amazing sights and unbelievable variety of gameplay. Even though it’s a straightforward platformer, the depth of Klonoa is still surprisingly varied. But where Klonoa 2 really excels is its visual brilliance. And typical with any standard platformer, Klonoa 2 offers a simple control scheme. Sadly, though, with all of its slick features, Klonoa still falters with its audio. Still, Klonoa 2 is a perfect example of how to make a superb game—skillfully combining an old gameplay style with the power of the PS2 graphic engine. No other platformer has even come close to the excellent ride Klonoa offers.
