Samson was born in Addis Abeba. He attended school at Mekane Yesus, Teferri Mekonen and then Cathedral(evening school). He started studying at Addis Abeba University's Fuculty of Natural Sciences before leaving Ethiopia in 1978.

He went to Sweden(1979) through Sudan & France. Upon arrival, Samson studied the Swedish language intensely, and within eight months, mastered it to the degree of qualifying for university level studies. In the spring of 1984, Samson graduated with excellent grades, from the Civil Engineering Program at Lund Institute of Technology. Samson was awarded a one-year scholarship in Advanced Structural Analysis and Steel Design by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). he launch his own firm in 1990. While running his own business, he also taught courses in Construction Engineering at Lund Institute of Technology. Samson together with his brother Mesfin also owned and ran a very popular fast food restaurant in Lund called Falafel Kungen between 1990 and 2000. He married in 1992 with Elsa and got two kids.

The word 'impossible' did not exist in his vocabulary. Solutions came to Samson's mind at the speed of lightning. He would with ease, present complex solutions in a very simplified way so that they could be grasped with less strain. He was the kind of person who would not go to bed before finding solutions to a challenge.

Samson had his first symptoms of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in the fall of 2002. After numerous medical checkups, he was diagnosed with ALS in the fall of 2004. He continued his normal life and worked as a teacher until the summer of 2005. He never stopped working with the company he founded, working from home until the end. Samson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at 3:40 P.M on June 16, 2006 at Lund University Hospital.
