THE GATEKEEPER is a green man in shades and a suit who guards the only gate to the past that Jack knows to work. He is indeed a formidable foe, who will only let one man through the portal. And, as he says to Jack, "You ain't the one." After he beats Jack, he does not kill him, as he does to all his other enemies, he simply says "Samurai Jack, it's not your time yet". What does that mean? We haven't seen the last of this guy, either.
