Comments: This is one in a series of paintings I entitled “UnHoly Bondage”. Jesus talks of being either a slave to sin or a slave to God. One is an “unholy bondage” the other is a “holy” bondage. One brings slavery the other brings freedom. It is the message to the Christian church in America as a whole. Never meant for the non-Christian to be used as condemnation on them. The child on top of the painting hiding her eyes to the reality of the man in bondage is like the feminine side of me denying any pain or sin in my life. The “enemy” is me. I am my worst enemy.
