Vladmir Lenin
Early Years
- Born Vladmir Ulyanov on April 10, 1870 on Simbirsk on the Volga
- At school, he was incredibly bright (was compared to a walking encyclopedia)- it was said that he was possesed with an insatiable scholarly curiosity
- Despite his extensive knowledge, he had no friends
- Attended college in St. Petersburg
- began studying Marxist ideas and getting involved in rebel activity there
Making a Change
- Lenin was arrested in December of 1895 along with other revolutionaries and was exiled in Siberia
- When done with his exile, he founded the Russian Communist Party
- He was the moving force behind the 1917 Russian Revolution.
- His extreme Marxist ideas, his devotion to those ideas and his leadership skills made him a well known (although not necissarily liked) leader.
