Low-Spoiler Nancy Drew Game Hints

Being a longtime computer game aficianado whose playing time has been drastically curtailed over the past few years by the arrival of my two young sons, I find myself looking for an online hint more and more frequently these days. But though I've found a lot of good computer game walkthrough pages out there, none of them told me what I really wanted to know--whether I had missed anything interesting in the game.

Puzzles and secret doors I can figure out on my own, but the difference between a plot arc that I've missed part of and one that's just badly written is almost impossible to discern on a single play-through. And when I do get stuck in a game, too, it's usually not because I can't figure out which tool to use on a door hinge, it's because I've missed something -- overlooked a puzzle in a corner, missed an exit to a new area that's hard to get to with the game interface, forgotten to follow a lead I came across earlier in the game. I need to be pointed back in the right direction, not told the solution.

So I've written some of my own Nancy Drew game hints, including as few puzzle or plot spoilers as possible. Instead I've written a page of general gameplay hints for each one (including any critical bugs or dead-ends the games may have, though there aren't many of those in the Nancy Drew games.) I've also written a series of Nancy Drew walkthroughs pointing out interesting things you can do in each of the game's locations, Nancy Drew cheats covering things like game deaths and easter eggs, and Nancy Drew game spoilers giving away the plot of each game. If you're looking for a more explicit hint, like how to solve slider puzzles, Ultimate Hint System has a really nice site with all its spoilers behind cut tags so that you can read one solution without spoiling any of the others for yourself.
