COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">The Phoenix Institute lies just
off the coast of California. Built by professor Charles Xavier
the Institute is a learning commmunity and a safe haven for mutants
that have no other place to go. Of course that is its officially
identity. Underneath the peaceful campus however is a powerful
assortment of training rooms, labs, and hangers, housing a vast
amount of equipment for the newest superhero team to be created.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">Officially called Xavier's
Knights, they are dubbed by the students as the X-Knightsand are
the envy of all the younger students. Training hard day and night
they use the Phoenix Institute as a guise too not only fool their
enemies but also those who fear them for the own unique talents.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">After the success of his
school in New York, Charles Xavier began construction of several
other similar schools. One would be built in South Dakota, near
the badlands. The other would be built near the coastline in California.
He choose Gambit to head up the South Dakota school where he would
choose Beast and several other students that were near graduating.
They would create a new team to combat the evils of the world,
while still doing what Xavier had always wantedteaching the world
that mutants and humans can live peacefully together.</FONT></P>

main entrance to the Phoenix Institute also houses quarters for
Hank McCoy and several other senior memebers of the Knights team.
it is also home to the Institute's welcome center.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">2. Swimming pool.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">3. Xavier Hall. Named after
thier founder, the Xavier building houses classrooms and offices
for the teachers on staff. It also houses the performing arts
studio as well as the Institute's own newspaper offices.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">4. Rec Center. The Rec center
houses locker rooms for the pool as well as for the weight room
and exercise room. The basement of the Rec Center has been converted
into a mini danger room.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">5. Emerald Hall. Named because
of the green glassed used to create it, Emerald Hall also houses
classrooms. The bottom floor of the hall contains a large indoor
meditation garden and the student union.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">6. Hospital. A fully functional,
although somewhat small hospital has also been erected on the
grounds of the Institute. The hospital is only 3 stories tall
but is fully staffed with doctors, nurses, and paramedics with
training dealing with mutant anatomy as well as regular humans.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">7. Hood Dormitory. Hood
dormitory is home to the younger members of the Knights. Current
Knights and those who wish to he Knights some day live here. The
top two floors of the 5-story building are reserved for the older
students, featuring apartment style living compared to the dorm
room like setting that is present on floors 2-3. The Hood dormitory
is an all male dorm.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">8. Anderson Dormitory. Anderson
dormitory is home to the younger members of the Knights. Current
Knights and those who wish to he Knights some day live here. The
top two floors of the 5-story building are reserved for the older
students, featuring apartment style living compared to the dorm
room like setting that is present on floors 2-3. The Anderson
dormitory is an all female dorm.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">9. Halo Center. The main
floor of the Halo center is used for office space and administrative
functions. However below the main level, you find an entire building
that won't show up an any official school tour. Sub level 1 features
the command center for the Knights. Sub level 2 contains the hanger
bay for their flight craft, the </FONT><I><FONT FACE="Arial"><A
HREF="Shadow">Shadow</A></FONT></I><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">,
and two specially built and modified F-14s. Sub level 3 contains
the larger danger room and locker rooms.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#ffffff" FACE="Arial">10. McCoy Building. This
building contains offices and other facilities used in the administration
of the Phoenix Institute on the first floor but also doubles as
the library on the second and third floors.</FONT></P>
