Running The Race

June 20th, 2003

“He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” Isaiah 40:29-31 AMP

Each and everyday we are in we are running some type of race. We are running to obtain the prize for winning this race. The race can be believing for someone to come to the knowledge of the gospel. It can be standing on the Word for God to show you what you are supposed to be doing in His Kingdom. It can be believing God for meeting the right friends or the boyfriend/girlfriend that God wants you to have.

No matter what the race maybe, sometimes we fall weary. This happens because of a major lack of abiding in the Lord and counting on His strength and in His ability instead of our own. In anything that you do, if you try to run a race or are striving to go higher in the Lord or trying to overcome something in your life without the Lord, you will crash and fall.

It is one thing to stay close to God, and another to never leave His presence. This is another area where people stumble. They may begin on the right foot but when the pressure of live comes down, they in their minds try to find out solutions in the natural instead of in the Word. Reasonings and very possible answers can flood into ones mind to bring temporary relief, but never address the issue at hand. They never reload you in strength to finish the race set before you.

For this very reason alone the bible shares with us that to get our strength renewed by abiding in the vine or in the Lord. When you get in that special place in God and stay there, God not only builds up your strength, but He gives you wings of an eagle and you soar above all the chaos underneath you because the air under your wings is the anointing and the wind of victory!!

The joy of your Lord is also your strength. When the devil cant short circuit you with fear, doubt and unbelief that God might not come through for you this time, he loses. He cant win. This is why we need to stay close and with the one who has paved the way to being the victor and never the loser. Today lets soar with the Son and continue to in the light of God’s Word see all those things that try to stop us seem small because in they have been defeated at the cross. Lets from this day on ride on the victory of the Word in all we do.

The Sure Thing

June 25, 2003

"As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried. He is a Shield to all those who trust and take refuge in Him." 2Samuel 22:31 AMP

Have you ever seen someone go out of their way to see if gravity would work one day instead of another??? No way!!! You would know that gravity works all the time because it is a law. It works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, forever.

It is the same way with the Word of God. It has been put to the test throughout the ages. Every single time you see someone speak Gods Word over a situation and stand in that Word as a child of God, speaking it with such a high expectancy on receiving, walking in the victory of it before it materializes in front of their natural eyes, you see them getting exactly what the Word of God says they can have and attain.

People ask me all the time, " Vince, why do I have to use God’s Word concerning this particular issue? Why can’t I use another method?"

The Word of God tells us in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 1 that we are to be imitators of God. In other words, we do things like He does to get the results as He does(Why would you want different results than that of God?). As the above verse also tells us, God’s way is perfect and is without flaw. The bible also tells us that we live and have our being with the words that we speak out of our mouth. (Hebrews.3:1)

Things in this natural world that seem to provide solutions only provide limited relief, if any at all. Society has trained people in many ways to bury or drown things out instead of overcoming them. Unfortunately this way of thinking only leads to more and more and more problems down the road. This is why when you see someone who is set free by God’s Word, you actually see a change and the yoke of bondage broken off.

Every other avenue in this world outside of God’s Word is a counterfeit and will let you down time and time again. There is only one true answer to everything in life. All of life’s questions and answers are found in the Word. It is who we are. We are the living example’s of the Word to this world. Lets show them each and everyday we live, that we live solely by the Word and not by what we see. We are a people of faith, God’s chosen for this time. Lets show this world how it is done!!

Staying Away From Strife

June 27, 2003

"The beginning of strife is as when water first trickles [from a crack in a dam]; therefore stop contention before it becomes worse and quarreling breaks out." (Proverbs 17:14)

Throughout the Scriptures, God warns us about the danger of strife. Yet, it's still one of the most common problems among believers. We let it get into our homes, our work places, our churches...everywhere!

Of course, we don't purposely let it in. We don't wake up in the morning and say, "I think I'm going to stir up some major strife today." We just inadvertently let it slip up on us one minor irritation at a time.

So, I urge you today to take a big stand against those little opportunities for strife. If you have a tendency to let things irritate you, decide to overcome that tendency. Arm yourself against them with the knowledge that this world isn't perfect, that there are people in it that aren't going to be nice to you. There are people who are going to stir you up and annoy you on purpose or by accident.

Make up your mind that, by the power of God, you're not going to let them get your peace. That peace is so important to your well-being. It will keep your body healthy. It will keep your relationships healthy. It will put you in a place where God can guide your steps and save you from some very grave mistakes.

If you've spent a lifetime getting your feathers ruffled over every little thing, it may take a while for you to break that habit. You may have to work at it a moment at a time. But you can do it.

I know. I had to do that where worrying is concerned. I'd worried for so many years and had come from such a family of worriers that I did it almost without thinking. When I learned worrying went contrary to the Word of God, I had to give it up one minute at a time. With the help of the Holy Spirit, every time a worried thought would come to me, I would overcome it with the Word of God. And I did that until I broke that worrying habit for good.

You can do the same thing with strife. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you start to notice and overcome it one moment at a time. Then, every time you start to get upset about something, rebuke that strife in the Name of Jesus and resist it. Say right out loud, "I am walking in the peace of God today."

You'll be surprised how much more wonderful living can be.

Be Willing

June 29, 2003

"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)

A healthy body. Enough money to pay all your bills and extra to invest in the work of the gospel. A godly marriage and happy, healthy children. Peace of mind. God has prepared a banquet full of blessings for you.

But those blessings are not just going to fall in your lap. You must be willing as well as obedient if you're going to eat the best from God's table.

So, be willing!

Don't be willing for Satan to put sickness on your body. Be willing, instead, to be well! In honor of Jesus' sacrifice at Calvary, refuse to accept anything less than divine health.

Don't be willing to live in lack, but be willing instead to live in divine prosperity and abundance. Refuse to allow Satan to stop the flow of God's financial blessings to you.

Be willing to receive God's best plan for your marriage and your children. Don't settle for the "norm" in the world. Live above it in a home full of love and harmony, a home that is what God meant it to be.

Don't allow Satan to substitute anxiety and ulcers for the peace and undisturbedness that Jesus bought for you. Be willing and obedient to cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.

Refuse to be robbed of the banquet of blessings that have belonged to you since you became a believer. Be willing to eat the good of the land!

Answer The Call

July 2, 2003

Joel 2:23 - Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

There is a set time for God’s people, young and old to rise up and to take a stand not only for that which is right, but also taking a stand for Christ and being noticed by those around you.

Yes we are all God’s children and have accepted Him into our lives, but being a Christian is more than just a phrase, or a title we hang over our heads to feel important or spiritual on Sunday mornings. Being a Christian is living with God all the time not when we feel like it.

The time has come saints of God for us to no longer be passive and silent. It is the set time says the Lord for us to be bold not only in word and with our lips but with our hearts as well. It is the time for us to open our mouths and declare who we are one with.

Jesus paid a awesome price for each of us and He was not ashamed of who He was and who He stood for. He didn’t care of people got upset at the words He spoke for He knew that the words He spoke were the truth and the truth set all of those who make the decision to receive it (salvation, truth) will be free!!

People have said, " I am waiting for the Lord to release His power before I do anything."

Get this saints of God, the power is HERE NOW IN THE PERSON OF THE HOLY GHOST WHO DOES LIVE BIG IN YOU!!! HALLELUJAH!!! What has stopped the efforts of the Lord for so long that it looks like no revival will every hit this land? We have. We have stopped it by our lack of commitment to God, to His Word, and being sure and confident in the love that He has for us.

I have made the decision to no longer be in the Lord’s way and having His plans and purposes come to pass. I have decided to start a revolution. What kind? A revolution for Christ!! Lets not only stir up ourselves to go higher in God but also our friends as well and have them on fire and have them join the revolution of living for Christ all day and everyday!!!!

The Lord has given me a vision and a dream of this world being shaken from the top to the bottom with God’s power and His glory. Be apart of the revolution. Join us in changing this world for God. Help us, yourself, and help the Lord set this world on fire and let us all with one voice, in one accord proclaim that Jesus is our Lord!!! (Matthew 17:20)(Mark 11:23-24)(Romans 1:16)

The Power of Confidence

July 10, 2003

"He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies." Psalms 112:7,8

If there was ever a force that drives out the spirit of fear it would be the spirit of confidence. Confidence gives a individual the ability to face any challenge in life and win. The key however is to have your confidence and trust in the right source or the right place.

The spirit of fear has had a lot of us captive. It tells us that we cant speak or preach in the streets because there are people watching us. It tells us we cant fulfill God’s plan in our lives with lack of resources. Fear tells us that a certain pain in your body wont go away. Fear uses your senses against you and tells you what it thinks the truth is about situations in your life.

I am happy to announce though that the spirit of fear, and of insecurity in any area of your life, has to bow its knee to the power of faith and confidence in the Name of Jesus and in the Word of God. The bible tells is in Philippians chapter 2 that every knee shall bow. This includes the spirit of fear and of bad things happening to a believer in Christ Jesus.

The bible further tells us in Ephesians chapter 1 that we have dominion over all the principalities and against everything that does have a name. Guess what revolutionists for Christ? That includes the spirit of fear!!! Whenever you have a feeling come over you that you know will lead you down the path that takes you away from faith, I want you to settle in your hearts right now that you have the tools necessary to overcome that obstacle.

So how do you overcome the fear of bad things happening to you or to your family, friends etc? The spirit of fear can only be overtaken and crushed when you with you mouth declare the word of God with boldness over that situation fully knowing that as you spoke those words that things are happening and are changing.

The more you apply the things of God into your life the easier it becomes. Its like lifting weights. One day lifting 50 pounds might be a ton, but a week down the road you can handle the weight because of the dedication you took in working your muscles.

We must do likewise with the word of God. When the weight of this world seems to bog and hold you down, you can with confidence in God and in His Word that when you speak it out of your mouth, that fear has to go. Throwing the anxiety and fear of a situation is not hard at all. In fact, if you dedicate yourselves to the things of the Word so much that it is all you think about and talk about, when situations arise you can not only bench press the thing off of you, but you can throw it away like a rag doll because you are firmly planted and grounded in who you are as a child of God and have total faith with confidence that God is behind you every step of the way. So place your confidence and trust in the Lord and in His Word, and watch those things in life that seemed big, become a ant hill that is swept away the power of confidence.
