Norristown Ford successfully campaigned a '63 1/2 Lightweight Galaxie during the 1963 season, and continued that success with a 1964 Thunderbolt. Ordered and owned by the dealership, it was raced until an accident in 1965 or 1966.

Rich Lamont, an employee at the dealership when the car was new, now races his 427 Fairlane more than any of the Thunderbolt owners. The car is updated in all respects, engine, suspension, brakes, transmission, but still appears to be a classic race car.
