Lord Sutch (the fifth Earl of Harrow) fronted an early British rock 'n' roll band called Lord Sutch and His Sceaming Savages. This band was contemporary with John Mayall and others in the early British club scene. He was noted for jamming with anyone and everyone he could. He also also quite well known in the London social scene (esp. since he was a legitimate English noble).

This album (and the follow up album HANDS OF JACK THE RIPPER - 1972) contained many of England's musical stars, many uncredited for legal reasons, others because of the quality of (or lack thereof) their performances. The remixing of the jam sessions was a crucial aspect of these recordings.

Eric Clapton may have been present for some of these sessions.

This outstanding solo debut came at a particularly successful and creative time for Stills. In the space of a couple of years he made two solo albums, released the superb Manassas double album and was part of CSNY. He was also living in Surrey, England, which explains the appearance of many UK-based musicians, from Eric Clapton to Ringo Starr and even Jimi Hendrix. This varied set shows Stills to be precociously talented as he tackled Memphis soul, folk, blues, rock and goodtime pop with the still fresh-sounding 'Love The One You're With'. Equally arresting is 'Black Queen', allegedly recorded after Stills had downed a bottle of tequila, and was 'drunk as a skunk'.

'Sweet Patti O'Hara Smith' (Track 9) written by Tony Aston is quite the counterpart to Eric Clapton's 'Layla'.
I don't know if Tony Aston wrote this with himself in mind or with Eric, but either way it is a very direct love song.

Eric was reported to have helped in the sessions for the song 'It Don't Come Easy'. It is unknow if the official released version contained his contributions. Only the CD version of the album 'Ringo' has this single.
