The Gate Of Change
 

 You cannot persuade me to change,
You cannot cajole me or move me with your flattery
or lies,
 Do not beg or plead,
For l am the keeper of the gate of change,
A gate that can only be opened from within.

No threats or promises can force it open,
For only l have the key.

But with your love and understanding,
And your patient guiding words,
I can summon the courage to turn the key,
Open wide the door of my heart,
And let the world in once more.
