Excerpt Three
So many years stretched behind us...An unbroken
keepsake...like beads on a chain...Each representing time
surrendered to other places...other hearts...other
ambitions....
Now I see your face once again...look into those dark,
mesmerizing eyes...and the years fall away like beads on a
broken strand....
The emotions I'd kept buried assaulted and reawakened
unforgotten memories that surged relentlessly to the
surface...
My God...My God...I wanted so to wrap you in my arms...to
hold your time-honored face in my hands...to clasp your
hands in mine and bid you Welcome Back...
But my own now-older, more conservative nature held me
back....Separate nomads, we made the pilgrimage through
long-forgotten memories of places and times shared....Then
you took my hand, gently pressed it in your own...and I
again felt the electricity of your touch....
