Tripod is pretty good. It offers 11 MB of free webspace, and a personalized
domain name (https://www.tripod.com/~YourMemberName). However, they do have an
annoying pop-up banner. But their banner's not nearly as large or annoying as
Geocities'.
Xoom is okay. They offer 11 MB of webspace, but the only problem is you have
to download some weird thing onto your computer in order to build your webpage.
But I guess that isn't too bad, because they do have a lot of utilities to use,
like chat rooms and counters and some other stuff.
This is another one of my highly suggested servers. They offer 7 MB of webspace,
and they're obviously really good. They claim to be the longest running free
homepage server on the net, and they have over 3 million members! For those of
you who aren't familiar with Geocities' boastings, WBS has 1 million more members
than Geocities.
The Globe is really good. They offer 6 MB of web space, and they're very well-known,
so your page should get lots of publicity. The best part about this server is
that advertising is optional.
Angelfire is the home of the page you're looking at right now. It offers 5 MB
of free web space, which isn't much, but it's good for small webpages. Remember,
bigger isn't always better. Sometimes you don't need 20 MB of webspace, or
whatever. In case you didn't notice, they DO have annoying pop-up banners, but
again, they're not NEARLY as annoying as Geocities'.
