Over My Head
I’m trying to find
Something that’s mine
Your hands touch me
As I begin to drown.
Swimming to the surface,
The water’s way too deep
I cannot see the sunshine,
Everything’s turned murky and brown.
My world is blank without you,
A paper but not a pen
I’m alone for everything, and
I don’t have anyone.
There’s a line of ice above me,
And my hands and feet are bound.
Naked in a swimming pool,
My life before my eyes,
I lost you a long time ago
And I’m scared you’ll never be found.
And what I don’t know,
Can’t hurt me, but
What I can’t figure out
Will get me in the end.
