Through The Years
Childhood dreams
Snap before my eyes
Poured through time,
And never realized
Colours in my pinwheel
Spin from red to black
Summer slides to winter,
And steals all I lack.
Starseeds and trampolines
All that I had but now forgot
Every lesson I have learned,
I wish was never taught.
Footprints fading,
Dusted by the sand
The paths I took,
Swallowed by the land
My music changes
From mellow to loud,
But it all runs together
And its all the same sound.
The sky is so blue,
Yet heaven seems haunting
You gave all you could,
But still I’m left wanting.
Why can’t this be easier,
And why don’t I understand this?
I want to erase everything I did,
And complete everything I’ve missed.
