Hawk Angels

Moonlight and angels
Reflecting in pools
Deep midnight yet oddly shining
Throwing forth spirit and sparks
Flashing like lightning in a clear sky
And wordlessly proclaiming faith and love

Clouds swirl peacefully and
Feathers spin slowly in a white whirlwind
On down to brush softly across this hawk
Feathers so unlike hers and yet so similar

Moonlight and lightning reflect in her eyes
And she begins to cry
The hawk flies into the downfall of feathers
Looking for what creature
Has such shining etherial feathers

Movement down below
A being, beautiful and strange
Made of moonlight and spirit
With only a feather left

One sparkling tear falls from the hawk
Ans splashes unto his face
The last feather falls

Blue swirling smoke
Floats up and embraces the gliding bird
Who falls into the water at his feet
For an instant
smoke obscues vision

The once angel lifts up the hawk
Who is also begining to lose feathers
A slightly feminine human form starts to take shape

Moonlight and lightning mark their features
One grey feather in her hair
One white in his
Disappearing into the forest
Forever marked by this strange passing

Sparkles shine in the water
And crystals line the banks
The remaining feathers flow down stream
And footprints lead off into the unknown
