I suggest that you read Camilla's Story before you read Tabitha's. Its a little long, but it will give you a better understanding.
~Tabitha Gladistonne's Story~
Her story is a tragic one, though she does not view it this way. Her spirit has been broken, stomped on, and almost utterly destroyed, but now, a young woman of seventeen, Tabitha has slowly begun to sew her life back together with the help of a few close friends.
From the moment of her birth, Tabitha and her mother were in danger from the Dark Witches, who desperatly needed Tabitha's impressionable innocence. They were only temporarily safe at the Inn where they were staying. Camilla's fiancé, Vincent Greystorm, was no help, fighting a war far off in this homeland.
In only the first few months of Tabitha's life, her mother began to see that her daughter had inherited her magickal skill. However, she did not want Tabitha to grow up using these powers for distruction and personal gain the way she herself had been raised to do, and this, along with her deteriorating sanity, prompted her to seek out her birth parents, planning to give Tabitha up to them.
Eventually, she found them in the WildWood, living a peacefull life in solitude. Camilla, with little explanation, gave Tabitha to them to care for. Tabitha's first few years of life were happy, and she was well loved by her grandparents, as all children are.
However, the October after her fourth birthday word reached the small home that Camilla had taken her own life. Tabitha, still very young, had trouble coping with her mothers unexpected death.
She slowly slipped into a quiet depression, and Vivien and Joseph, her grandparents, worried they may loose her too. When Tabitha was six, Vivien decided it was time to tearch Tabitha to direct her powers towards healing people, and animals. She caught on quickly, and to Vivien's delight, she began going outside once more, playing in and befriending the Woods and its inhabitants. Things seemed to be picking up for the small family once again.
The years passed, and as Tabitha aged, her curiosity in her seemingly non-existant father took flight, and, at fourteen, she began travelling to the Inn of RavensDale, in search of him, or any information on him. Knowing only his name, her search rendered fruitless.
Rumours of Orcs roaming the WildWood drove her grandparents to think of moving out of the Wood, to a safer area. Tabitha refused to go, she wished to stay in RavensDale and further seek her father. Her grandparents agreed that if she could find somewhere to stay, she didn't have to go. This discouraged Tabitha, because she had no friends, and no money.
It was by luck, one night as she was wandering through the Barrows Mire, that she stumbled across the large, statly home. The woman living there was as lonely and as frustrated as Tabitha, and after it was obvious the two were destined, the woman agreed to take Tabitha in.
The woman was the kind, loving, and somewhat mysterious Poetess. With her grandparents approval, Tabitha moved in with her dear adopted mother. They were very much alike, and soon Tabitha viewed Poetess as more than a mother; she was a friend, a role model, a mentor.
And now they are preparing to move into their new home, at Silver Springs. Tabitha has forgotten her father, and has slowly reconstructed her life.
