Pathatic but Amazing

At a 1995 Hole concert, two Courtney haters, but Nirvana lovers yelled “You killed Kurt!” So Courtney went into her audience and beat them up. She was carried away from the show by security, crying her eyes out.

It was said that after Courtney Love’s rock star husband Kurt Cobain killed himself, she lay in his blood for three days and cleaned it up. She keeps strands of his hair on an altar she made for him, and also keeps his ashes there. She made moulds of his hands and read his suicide note for millions while expressing her grief and rage over her husband’s death. She even dedicates songs and albums to her belated husband. She also still receives hate mail from so-called Nirvana fans accusing her of killing him.

No matter who you are, it seems everyone has an opinion on Courtney Love. You either love her or you hate her.

To put it bluntly, she is a bitch. But she is an inspirational bitch to say the least. She is determined to get whatever she wants, no matter what odds are against her. It is this determination and inspiration that gets her fans from all over the world.

Some people are simply amused by her antics. She is the perfect performer because she knows how to put on a show; whether it be by beating up audience members or screaming her dead husbands name over and over again while reanimating how he blew his head off with her finger. Or it may even be as simple as her wearing a little baby doll dress with some smeared lipstick while she hikes her leg up on an amp to show off her undergarments.

I believe many people would not like Courtney so much if they didn’t feel so sorry for her. She didn’t have the best childhood, she’s never had many friends, and she never has much luck when it comes to finding love. Well, there was one time she found true love, but than she had to watch the man she loved slowly destroys himself. Most people believe she was the one who destroyed him, and maybe she did. Every person has a different opinion. As for me, I believe she did destroy him, but she never meant to.

Some people have this weird, self-destructive aura to them. They seem to ruin the people they love the most, destroying themselves in the process. In my opinion, Courtney’s only crime when it came to her husband was loving him.

She displayed her anguish of Kurt’s suicide to the entire world, gaining either sympathy or disgust from each and every viewer.

Courtney Love often plays her shows either drunk or high and flashes her breasts to the crowd. Spin magazine called one of Hole’s performance “devastating…like watching your sister strip for a stag party.” At the end of one Hole show, Courtney’s band mates left her onstage while she staggered around and sobbed “someday you will ache like I ache” over and over until she looked like she would faint. She was than escorted off stage. She would later say “I wish someone would have locked me in my house for six months.” (Spin magazine) She made a fool of herself again and again, and became known for her humiliating antics, which included rolling around in her underwear at parties. But Courtney also says, “I put on some of the best performances people will ever see.” (Spin magazine) And she did.

When Barbara Walters asked Courtney about her onstage antics, calling it bad taste Courtney cried on national television saying, “There’s so much energy from the audience that’s about Kurt. What do I do? Do I ignore it? Can I acknowledge it? Is there a middle ground? What can I do? Do I sit here and play Betty Crocker and die? It’s catharsis. And there is not a thing I would or could take back because it was for me. Not for them. Yet they get something out of it.”

After her husband’s death, Courtney got back into drugs again. “I don’t think God necessarily put us here to be sober all the time, but I also don’t think he put us here to be junkies.”

Some people believe Courtney is a feminist, and in some ways she is. But she has also disgusted many real feminists because Courtney believes in order for a woman to be powerful, she must be pretty. “When your fat like I was-which is 5 feet 8” and 150-170 pounds- you do not get to fuck the boys you want to fuck. Right?….The minute I got skinny and got a nose job and became photogenic…every boy I ever wanted, wanted me.”

This is the story of Courtney Love, and if Courtney’s life story can be summed up in one word, it would be Inspirational. Courtney proved if you have enough will power, you can get what you want. She has overcome drug addiction, alienation, and tremendous guilt. She has made many mistakes, but in making those mistakes she has learned many valuable lessons. No matter how big the mistake, Courtney Love always seems to recover and move on. It’s this sort of strength, the strength to wake up every morning no matter what horrible life situation you are in, and just not lying down and dying. This should inspire every person, and I think its good thing many young girls in particular are inspired by Courtney Love, because this is what inspires them.
