Atmosphere/Hydrosphere Unit Guidelines
Atmosphere
Climate
1. Climate Paragraph
Write a short parargraph describing the climate in your biome, including temperatures and rainfall patterns. Are there distinct seasons in your biome? Are there any particular weather extremes (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, drought) that your biome has?
2. Climatogram
Include a climatogram of your target area, showing climate patterns for temperature and rainfall for an entire year. Temperature should be a line graph and rainfall should be a bar graph. To get specific data for your biome's climatogram, follow these steps:
1. Click here and input the name of the CITY you selected within your target biome.
2. Click on one of the blue text links to data sets.
3. Select a data set that is labeled "Average Temperature" and print the data table directly from the Internet.
4. Click on the browser's "back" button and repeat step 3 for "Average rainfall."
5. Use the data you collected to make a climatogram.
Cycles
Include diagrams of both the nitrogen cycle and the carbon/oxygen cycle in your project. Insert names of plants and animals from your biome where appropriate.
Hydrosphere
Include a diagram of the water cycle in your project. Insert names of plants and animals from your biome where appopriate.
