The promise of a rainbow
Lies within this heavy heart
Storms bombard my soul
Yet remnants of hope survive its lark
Fingertips of warmth extending
Gradually part the clouds within
Condensation whispers slowly past
As the sun draws near again
And it’s painting me a rainbow
A path for future dreams
With its promise of something golden
At the edge of its brilliant beams
I shall pursue the enchanting banner
Delightfully vibrant with each step
And embrace my future at its close
Of this perfect promise kept
