In the spring of '98 five students decided to undertake the task of reviving the then dormant Guild. In the fall of '98, after a semester of running concessions at Theatre Department shows, the intrepid group of five - now the Guild's executive board - managed to raise enough funds to accomplish their goal.
The fall of 1998 was a very exciting semester. Theatre Guild mounted its first production since 1996: "The Sound Of A Voice" by David Henry Hwang, the reknowned Asian-American playwright. The production was a great success, sparking interest within the Theatre Department as well as on the rest of campus. This was followed by David Ives' "All In The Timing". The off-the-wall comedy also met with great success.
The two productions paved the way for the establishment of the Guild as a living and vital entity within the CSUN Department of Theatre. If you would like to learn more about these productions, please click on their links below.
