• The Laysan Albatross. The Army occasionally hikes around Kaena Point on the way from Dillingham Military Reservation to Makua Military Reservation. When it does, it must follow Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawaii rules to protect the bird.

• Manana Tree Planting Service Project. On February 22, 2003, Tiger and Eagle Patrols, Troop 201 planted over 300 koa tree seedlings as part of a larger reforestation effort following a wildfire.

• Hawksbill Turtle Service Project. Between June 10-13, 2002, Tiger Patrol, Troop 201 did a service project at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and also enjoyed exploring the Coastal Backcountry.
