Chapter Seventeen- Isaac Intervenes.

Isaac

Dinner had gone pretty well. Besides Mackie sincerely saying, "You have a cute brother and sister" and Avery politely asking, "How long are you babysitting?", there hadn't been any extremely awkward situations. And, Isaac wanted to see Shae again.

Shae laughed, "I am not even home yet, and you want to see me again?"

Without looking away from the road, Isaac nodded.

"Hell, yeah," he replied.

"Shhhhh," Shae shushed, rolling her eyes, "There are little ears in the car."

"Sorry. Wanna see a movie?"

"Cool!"

"Apt Pupil?" he suggested.

"Sounds good. I'll have to see if Tracey can watch the twins, though."

Isaac smiled.

"Ike," Zac whispered, eyeing his mom.

"What do you want?" Isaac muttered, glancing up from his schoolwork.

"A ride," Zac whispered, undaunted.

"To where?"

"A movie. Steph and I wanna see Apt Pupil."

"Shae and I are gonna see that."

"A double date," Zac snickered.

Taylor

"Might as well triple it, eh, Tay?" Ike asked.

"Oh yeah, genius. And who am I going to go with?"

So that was a bit of a problem. Britt was gone (not that Taylor missed her at all.) so tiple dating was rather difficult.

"I don't know," Zac answered. He was sitting a great distance away from both of his brothers.

Taylor groaned, "Does Shae know she's double dating with a 13 year old?"

"Yeah. I just talked with 'er."

"So why can't you just double? Three's a crowd," Taylor snorted, "Hell, I've sworn off girls forever!"

"Who's next? Guys?" Zac snickered.

Taylor made unpleased face, and muttered, "That's exactly what Cheyenne said."

"Ike? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Zac smirked.

"I like the way your evil little mind works."

Taylor's eyes grew, "NO!!"

Isaac

"This is her house?" Isaac called back to Taylor.

"Yeah," he replied.

"Not exactly shabby, is it?" Shae asked no one in particular.

Taylor shook his head no, and went to the door.

Both Ike and Zac waited impatiently for Cheyenne. They'd heard about her, but neither had actually seen her. Ike glanced at Zac, who was holding Stephanie's hand. Then, he glanced at the door, just in time to see her come out.

Compared to the light-headed, beautiful, 5'8" could-be model that was Britt, Cheyenne was an exact opposite. She was a bit shorter than average height, but Taylor seemed to tower over her. Unlike Britt's shoulder length blonde hair, Cheyenne's hair was incredibly long, and in a fish tail. She had the oddest (but sweetest) lopsided smile Isaac had ever seen, and her left to have a permanant dimple in it. She was not the next Cindy Crawford, but what she lacked in beauty, she made up for in extremely sweet cuteness.

She opened the door, and climbed in.

"Hi," she greeted, in a low, soft voice, "I'm Cheyenne Spring."

"Also known as No Name," Taylor teased, pushing her in all the way.

Zac

"Did Taylor ask 'er out?" Stephanie asked, sitting in the theater.

"Kinda. It was my idea," Zac beamed, through a mouthful of popcorn.

"She's pretty," Shephanie decided.

"Not as pretty as you," Zac contradicted.

He couldn't be sure, but he thought he caught a blush.

"You're sweet," she whispered, but the movie was starting.

Zac looked at her with shy respect. He admired her in a weird way. She was cool.

TaylorYawning, he stretched his arm across the back on Cheyenne's chair and settled in.

Tilting one eyebrow, Cheyenne whispered, "That was old."

"What was old?" Taylor asked, feigning innocence.

Besides," Cheyenne continued, settling against Taylor's arm, despite herself, "I thought you'd sworn off girls."

Taylor shrugged, "I have. They're evil and cunning."

Cheyenne snorted, "This coming from you? I'm insulted!"

"Some of 'em," Taylor corrected, smirking, "But you were cunning, No Name!"

Cheyenne stared reproachfully at him, but shrugged it off, before saying, "You suck" with a hint of laughter in her voice.

Taylor sniffed, "Cheyenne, I thought you cared!"

The lady in front turned around and glared before offering a loud, "Shhhh!"

Cheyenne pointed at Taylor, "I do not know him."

"Fine. Disown me now," Taylor whined, trying not to smile.

"I will. You're chauvanistic," Cheyenne stated, calmly, grinning finely.

"Me? I'm insulted."

Cheyenne giggled, "Good."

Taylor pouted.

"Awwww, Chey, I'm sorry," he apologized, attempting to hide the grin that threatened to spill over.

"You're forgiven."
