I Died For Love
In the shadows I dwell,
I met this guy I got to know so well.
He took my love away from me,
And told me he would set me free.
He took this girl at his knee,
And told her things he never told me.
Not a word to my mother I said.
My dad came home late one night,
And looked for me from left to right.
He came upstairs, my door he broke,
To find me hanging from a rope.
He took a knife and cut me down,
Then read a note that he had found:
"Dig a grave, and dig it deep,
With marble stones from head to feet.
On this grave, please place a dove,
To show the world I died for love."
