Creative's
NOMAD JukeBox 3 (20GB)
is
a Discman-shaped MP3 player with the capacity to hold up to 333+ hours
worth of songs. But, it will cost you approx. US$400 (S$700, RM1500).
So, does it worth the price?
The
Good
Big capacity. Good
sound quality. Upgradable file format. Line output rear speakers. Long
battery life. Direct recording (128Kbps, 320Kbps) to MP3 format. Fast
transfer rate. Act as large portable file storage device.
The
Bad
*Expensive.
*Big size. No radio and remote control
(comming soon).
The
Conclusion
The
major disadvantage of JukeBox is the big size. Other CD/MP3 player of
the same size will only cost you a fraction (approx US$90, S$150, RM300)
of what the JukeBox can cost you. With a normal CD of 700MB storage (10+
hours musics), a CD/MP3 player will satisfy most users. Unless, you do
not own a CDR-Drive (notebook computer user), then JukeBox with its USB/Firewire
interface maybe good for you. So, unless you really wants a 333+ hours
of music (you need to have spare batteries around), we do not recommend
the JukeBox 3 for most buyers. But, some buyers might be interested in
its recording function which is one of the best. Imagine that you can
record up to 333+ hours of lecture, talks, etc. (which some users may
find it useful). And, for those folks who like special effect, the build-in
DSP that can simulate auditorium or bathroom environments, may be a plus.
