Welcome to Heather's Heavenly Haven! It was one of my resolutions to keep this site updated, so keep your eyes and mice peeled! As a change of pace this year, this page will be like a newsletter to benefit those friends and family I am not in constant contact with.
But first, for those who are newcomers to my haven, here's a little bit about myself.
An introduction may be beneficial at this point, eh? My name is Heather (or if you met me through Acrophobia - Guenny). I'm presently 25, but that will change the instant you flip your calendars to February. I hail from Montreal , Quebec where I was born and raised minus a 4 year hiatus spent in Toronto .
Much to the chagrin of friends and family, I'm known to be somewhat nomadic, moving on average of once per year (I think my mom has a whole page devoted to my past addresses in her phone book... eeek! sorry mom).
My family lives west of me, all of them in Ontario. Someday soon, I'll post some new pictures so you can see them all. My mom (Jan) lives with my older brother (Mike) and a menagerie consisting of 8 cats and 2 dogs, in Willowdale. In the basement of the house lives my younger brother Andrew and his fiancee Jen. They will be married at the end of June when I will serve as bridesmaid. My dad lives in Vaughn with his puppy Robin. My sole grandmother lives in Mississauga (not Mississippi). Then we have my aunt (Joan) and uncle (Leon), cousins (Karen, Kim, and Brenda), their husbands and kids who have spread themselves somewhre between Guelph, Chatsworth, and Owen Sound.
In my spare time, that is to say when I'm not at home sleeping or cuddling with my Dusty-bunny, I manage to plug in a couple of hours at Jean Coutu Pharmacy . At PJC I'm honing my skills as a lab technician: a fancy way of saying prescription filler. This means fo course, that I am doctor scrawl literate and proficient at counting pills of all shapes and sizes in multiples of 5. Added to my responsibilities as pharmacist assistant, I am a buyer of over the counter (OTC) medications. I'd like to take a brief moment to tell all Canadians: TYLENOL PM IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE US!!! Ahem... that feels better...
The last but most certainly not least important thing you need to know about me is actually about my Gil. We met online in November of 1998 during a game of Acrophobia. 5 months later, we met IRL at a gathering of Acrophobes in Montreal. The pic of us up top was taken on the day that we met! Although neither of us was planing on hooking up romantically, cupid struck me at the airport when I hugged him in welcome. Mind you, he didn't take much convincing and now here we are 10 months later with me making plans to move to New York City . While in NYC, I hope to study while he continues to work as a sound editor for Cinema Audio Playground; helping movies like Pokemon- The First Movie and Tumbleweeds make the big screen sound great!
Of course, I couldn't stop babbling about myself without mentioning my friends who without a doubt, are the best crew in the world! For those of you I've worked with, or still do, you must be on the crack again to put up with my moaning and complaining as you do. Special hugs go out to Ervie, Sandra, Tania, Pascale, Karo, Kath, M-C, Eric, Linh, Ginette and especially Nick: my latin dancing partner! However, the patience awards go to David and Julia and Jenny though- they rough it when I don't return phone calls, cancel on plans etc. Kudos... I love you guys!
