Ok. The movie starts out by introducing the characters. There's the looser geek that everyone picks on; Casey, played by Elijah Wood, the out-of-touch 'freak' who'd rather read up of sci-fi then make a few friends; Stokely, played by Clea DuVall, the captian of the football team who's dating the most popular girl at school; Stan, played by Shawn Hatosy, the most popular girl at school who 'hasen't gone with out her contacts and hairspray since... birth'; Delilah, played by Jordana Brewster, the hot, bad boy, ultra smart guy who skips class to deal homemade drugs called *scat*; Zeke, played by Josh Hartnett, and the new girl from down south; Marybeth Louise Hutchinson, played by Laura Harris.
At the begining, noone in the group are friends. Delilah made fun of Stokley calling her a lesbian and commenting on her use of the different shades of black, while Stokely calls her a gutter slutt. Gab, a friend of Stan's (played by Usher) rams Casey into a poll... the unpleasent way. Stan runs into Stokely and she tells him to 'get a fucking eye dog.' He answers back by saying, 'maybe if you didn't paint your fucking eye's shut.' Any way. You can see how friendly they are.
Casey is the first to notice the strange things happening, fallowed closly by Delilah and Stokely. Stan finds out about this and, at first dosen't belive it, untill an old teacher at the school decides to catch his full monty in the school gyms shower. (She needed water.) Casey and Stokely discuss how simular this is too 'Invasion of the Body Snachers'. They decide that aliens have invaded their school. Casey and Delilah decide to check out the teachers lounge. But while they're in there, three of the teachers, Couch Willis, Nurse harper and Ms Olsen enter the lounge. Casey and Delilah hid in the closet. They see Couch Willis and Ms. Olsen kill Nurse harper. While in the closet, they find the dead body of the old teacher who died after running in on Stan in the shower.
Anyway. All this tends to lead Casey and Delilah to the other side of the norm... In other words... They know somethings up. They let the others in on the big secret and guess what?! They don't believe them... BIG SURPRISE! But Zeke, Stan and Mary Beth quickly change their minds when their Bio teacher tries to kill them. Now we're left with the six teens trying to figure out whats going on in their peacefull little town. Thanks to Zeke's super intellegence, a small, weird looking specimen that Casey had found and Zeke's pet mouse, they soon find out that the specimen is a paracite. (They had to kill the mouse, which I found sad...) And come to the conclusion that what ever is doing this is trying to take over their town. *WARNING! BIG SPOILER COMING UP SOON!* So they discover that Zekes homemade drug called Scat (which is taken through the nose VIA a pen... Which I found to be rather creative) can destroy the paracite. They make each other take the drug, made of mainly caffien pills and other homemade stuff, to make sure that they can all be trusted. They discover that Delilah is an Alien and, after a lot of swearing, and Stokely shooting at her with Zeke's gun, she gets away.
They all go to the school to find the "leader" of the aliens so they can kill it and save the town... They think it is the principal and try to kill her by shooting her.... It doesn't work. They get away from her and split up. (Classic Horror movie No No.) Stan is turned without them knowing it. They give the last of the scat to him and he pours it to the ground. (Now we are left with Stokely, Zeke, Mary Beth and Casey... Just to keep you on track.) The four somehow manage to split up and now, after an in water fight, Stokely is turned by the leader... Guess who. Mary Beth... I didn't see it coming either. So now Zeke and Casey are in a locker room and Mary beth walks in NAKED! (Not my favorite part of the movie.) Mary Beth like knocks out Zeke... And then there was one. Casey hids from Mary Beth in the locker room as she walkes around looking for him she explains her little plan... How she was going to take over the world and how she took the Scat without actually taking it. (She opened the pen top and emptied out the contents before sniffing it.) Then Mary Beth changes into her real form (Which you see earlier when she attacks Stokely).
Anyway. Casey gets an idea. He runs to the Gym and heads for the Stands. He hits a switch that activates the stairs and they begin to close as Casey draws the alien into it. Casey runs under the stands as they close and dives out the other end just in time to see the Alien crushed by them. They alien trys to pass the paracite onto Casey but in unsucessful.
The movie ends with eveybody getting what they want which I found to be the only dumb part. Casey and Delilah go out. Stan and Stokely go out, Zeke and a teacher that used to argue with him all the time go out. And Stan returns to his spot of the Football team.
