Darkness

(dir.: Lief Jonker)

This movie is what the new wave of independent film-making is all about. A couple of guys, their friends, and a movie camera go out, and wreak havoc on the streets of a quiet little town. Darkness is about vampires over-running a small town, in the middle of no where, chasing a group of teens, and hunted by a teen as well. It is about sh_t hitting the fan, and people surviving to see daylight; typical fare for a vampire movie.

Not much in the way of plot, nor is the acting quite remarkable as well. The gore effects are amazing for what shoe string budget these film-makers had. It is a wonderfully bloody movie, but not one that one should take in any serious light. It is, in the end, a B-grade movie, but one that should be watched by any horror film fan.
