Vampire Hunters

It is known all too well that which plauges the lands of Mexico ... Vampires. These are creatures driven by emotions, pure and raw. They must feed, for their hunger is unlike anything felt by any mortal. It is an eternal pain within them that is allieivated only by drinking blood. They leave but bloodless corpses in their wake; pale, and shriveled, gasping for mercy, or a quicker death. Other survivors are left in a cold sweat, always gazing out of a window, as if awaiting for the next night's rape.

Vampires Hunters are an ever-vigilant band of warriors that seek to send these god-forsaken creatures back into the hell that they crawled out of. They are never alone, but seemingly by themselves. In the face of the hordes of these monsters, they stand their ground, while others run. Their weapons and armor are always well-kept, well-used, but never enough. Vampires and their minions are always pentiful. Sleep is also antoher luxury, for during the day they hunt, and at night, they keep one eye open while they slumber... open for the vampires they missed.

Any O.C.C. or R.C.C. can be made into a capable Vampire Hunter. From the lowly vagabond to the wealthy Cyber-Doc, all that is needed is the proper weapons, and the desire to rid the Earth of these nocturnal predators. There are a few that make it their sole purpose in life to the eradication of vampires. They are the ones that most likely are tired of being afraid of the night. They are the ones that might have lost a loved one to the fell bite of these creatures. They are also the ones that truly know how to deliver this fear and pain to the vampires.

There are two basic types of Vampire Hunters. There are those who are trained not too unlike the Headhunter O.C.C., and there are those who are not too unlike the Mystic O.C.C. The Tech-Hunter is a Vampire slayer that uses weapons, tactics, and sheer guts to hunt and kill vampires. Rarely will one find the same kind of Tech-Hunter in a group. Mystic Hunters use magic to both in combat, as well as in other ways (i.e. infiltrating vampire nests or gangs, etc.).

The reason for the diversity between each hunter is that it serves as a way to combat a foe that does not have the same amount of variation as they do. It is also in case that some of them should have the dire misfortune of being turned into vampires. This way, while the vampires can get a good fix on one group of hunter's strengths and weaknesses, they cannot do so for another group. Diversity also compensates for attacks from the minions of Vampires, a variable that one cannot predict.

The divesity of the Vampire Hunters also gives them the ability to blend in. The Vampires have mind-controlled slaves that watch their crypts during the day, and keep an eye out for Vampire Hunters. Yet, if one were to look like a typical group of adventurers strolling through Juarez, how would a mind-controlled lackey know any better? Sometimes, stealth is favorable to storming in on a nest.

Vampire Hunters do try to work with each other, but this is not always possible. Very few specialized Vampire Hunters actually work with Reid's Rangers for a number of reasons. Firstly, they do not like the nastiness that goes on inside Fort Reid. Another reason is that they are not a bunch of hyped-up teens on testosterone, with candy-coated dreams of killing Vampires; true Vampire Hunters are serious and realistic, and not given to claims for glory or fame (at least most Vampire Hunters). There is also the need for autonomy. Although working for groups like Demon Busters and Reid's Rangers have their benefits, shorter term contracts are usually made with them, as Vampire Hunters don't like to be told what to do. They know what to do already ... kill Vampires!

Truly, all that is needed to make a Vampire Hunter sucessful is the ability to survive. This, coupled with a conisitent record of staking, capping, and ashing these worst of all nocturnal predators.
