"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 12:28-30)
Come to me...and I will give you rest. Those words of Jesus are for us. Only in Him we can find true rest. Only in Jesus there's peace of mind and restoration. In Jesus all our wounds can be healed because...
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24)
and....
"Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:4-5)
Jesus is the perfect medicine for our souls. He is our redeemer. His love for us is awesome. He take care of us like none else. We are his people and only when we are with Him we are safe. He promised He would be with us till the end of the world.
"...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20)
We know He is with us because He sent us the Holy Spirit (John 16:7). So that His Holy Spirit is with us. We can pray to Jesus. We can talk to Him. We can cry to Him when we are desperate. The Holy Spirit teaches us how to do that. Jesus is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:20). He is knocking at the door of our soul.
"Here I Am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20)
Can you hear him? No? Look for a lonely place. It can be in your own room. No one else but you and God. Let your soul cry out for Him. And wait, just wait. Don't close the door of your heart. Open it so that He can find it opened when He comes to you. There He comes....
"Behold, I come quickly....." (Revelation 3:11)
He promised He would be with you always. Now He is with you. Close now the door. You can talk to Him. Tell him all your needs. Tell Him also all your sins so that the Father can forgive you. Don't be ashamed, Jesus loves you and He will just say:
"Then neither do I condemn you.....Go, and sin no more" (John 8:11)
Take all the time you need to be with Him. Don't be in a hurry. Let Him pamper you. You have a lot of things to tell Him but now maybe all you can do is to look at His eyes to see His love for you on them. Don't worry about the words then. Enjoy this moment, this glimpse of what heaven is.... and worship Him, adore Him, give Him the glory. Now He is taking your hands to lead you where the Father is. Enjoy His presence.
"....and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever" (Psalm 23:6).
Do this every time you need. No one but God can help you. Only Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
