April 21, 2000: Well, we know Alex's first job is baseball, but maybe modeling is in the future! Alex, along with Derek Jeter and Nomar Garciaparra, are on the cover of April's GQ magazine. They have a good article and some creative photos, so go out and buy it!
Individual Game Tickets On Sale February 5
January 13, 2000: In conjunction with the Fan Fest, tickets for all 81 Mariners home games will go on sale on Saturday, February 5. Ticket prices for the 2000 season range from $5 to $32.
Tickets can be purchased through either of the official Mariners Clubhouse Stores in downtown Seattle or Bellevue. They can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster Northwest outlet or at the Safeco Field Box Office. By phone, tickets can be purchased through one of the Ticketmaster Northwest numbers: Seattle--(206) 622-HITS; Tacoma--(253) 627-TIX; Eastern Washington--(509) 735-0500 or (509) 453-7139; Oregon--(503) 224-4400; and British Columbia--(604) 280-4444. You can also go to the Mariners home page to purchase tickets beginning February 5th.
Alex: The Best Player in Baseball
January 6, 2000: Alex Rodriguez was named baseball's best player by a poll of 20 baseball executives. His teammate, Ken Griffey Jr., came in at second place. The top five was rounded out by Pedro Martinez and Nomar Garciaparra of the Boston Red Sox, and Derek Jeter of teh New York Yankees. Read about it here in the Seattle Times.
