Mulan: The ENTIRE story

It starts out with a lone soldier walking down the great wall. Suddenly a falcon swoops down and knocks off his helmet.
Ropes start flying up and the huns climb the wall. He barely reaches the top to light the signal when the leader of the huns, Shan Hu, confronts him.
He lights it. "Now all of China knows you're here", he says as a chain reaction of signals light up. "Perfect", is Shan Hu's reply.
The General tells the Emperor of the Huns and offers to set up defenses around the palace but the Emperor orders that they protect the people,
get as many new recruits and reserves as possible. "I will not take any chances.
A single grain of rice can tip the scale, one man may be the difference between victory and defeat."
Mulan is eating her breakfast (rice of course) and reciting the things she must remember for the matchmaker
AND writing them on her arm (kind of like when you write the answers to the math test on your shoe). The cock crows
and she rushes off to do her chores, well sort of. Meanwhile her aged and ill father prays to their ancestors to help
Mulan impress the matchmaker.
- Mulan ties a bag of chicken feed with a
whole in it to her dogs tail and a rod with a bone on a string on his back.
He runs around after the bone leaving chicken feed everywhere, even around her praying father. His reply is "Please... PLEASE help her!"
She races off on her horse to the village.At the village, her mother (Fa Li)
waits enthusiasticly, commenting that she should have prayed to the ancestors for luck.
Grandma simply comments "How lucky could they be? They're dead."
- Grandma pulls out a cricket in a cage and tells him that it's his chance to prove he's a lucky cricket.
She covers her eyes and walks accross the busy street not getting hit but causing all sorts of wagons and horses to crash into eachother. When
she gets accross she declares that the cricket is a lucky one. The cricket is trembling wide eyed inside
the cage, then faints.
Mulan arrives on her horse, Kahn, with grass in her hair.
Honor to us all
Chubby woman- This is what you give me to work with?
Well, honey, I've seen worse.
We're going to turn this sow's ear
into a silk purse
Mulan- This water is freezing!
Fa Li- It would have been warm if you were on time
Chubby woman-We'll have you
Washed and dried
Primped and polished 'till you glow with pride
Trust my recipe for instant bride,
You'll bring honor to us all
Fa Li- (referring to Mulan's arm) Mulan, what's this?
Mulan- Notes. In case I forget something?
Grandma- we'll need more luck than i thought
Tall thin women- Wait and see
When we're through
boys will gladly go to war for you
With good fortune,
and a great hairdo
You'll bring honor to us all
All women- A girl can bring her family
great honor in one way,
by striking a good match,
and this could be the day!
women individuallly-Men want girls,
with good taste,
Calm
Obedient
Who work fast paced
With good breeding and a tiny waist
You'll bring honor to us all...
All women- We all must serve our Emperor who guards us from the huns
A man by bearing arms,
A girl by bearing sons!
2 women and Fa li one after another- When we're through,
We can't fail
Like a lotus blossom,
soft and pale
How could any fellow say no sale
You'll bring honor to us all...
Fa li- There- You're ready
Grandma- Not yet
an apple for serenity,
a pendant for balance,
Beads of Jade for beauty...
You must proudly show it...
Now add a cricket, Just for luck
and even you can't blow it.
Mulan- ancestors,
hear my plea help me not to make a fool of me,
and to not uproot my family tree,
Keep my father standing tall...
Scarier than the undertaker
We are meeting our matchmaker
Everyone- Destiny
Guard our girls,
And our Future as it fast unfurls
Please look kindly on these cultured pearls,

The match maker flies through the door and calls for Mulan. Mulan makes the mistake of talking without permission.
When she is asked to recite the oath, she says reflect before you snack instead of reflect before you act.
During the test she sets the matchmaker on fire and throws tea in her face, all
by accident. The matchmaker screams in her face that even though she looks
like a bride, she would never bring her family honor.
Reflection
Mulan- Look at me
I will never pass for a perfect bride
Or a perfect daughter
Can it be
I'm not meant to play this part?
Now I see
That if I were truly to be myself
I would break my family's heart

Staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Mulan sits down in their orchard, where her father tells her that when the late blossom blooms, it will be the most beatiful of all.
Suddenly drums sound and Mulan's father is called up. During dinner she tells him that he shouldn't have to go and that
he is dieing just for honor. She runs off, to cry. Later she sees her father
practicing with his sword. He collapses. She runs off and sits at the foot of
the great stone dragon in the rain
in her sorrow.She watches her mother and father go to bed through a window,
and decides that if there is any way of saving her father, she's going to have to take matters into her own hands.
She runs and prays to her ancestors for help then
gives her last goodbyes to her family, leaving her comb in the place
of her father's
conscription notice. She takes her fathers sword and cuts off her long
beautiful hair and ties it back in a bun. She puts her fathers armor on, goes to get her horse, and rides off.
Her grandma is the first to notice, her father races out to find her. Her mother says,"You must go after her... she could be kiled."
"If I reveal her, she will be." her father answers.
