Part II

Sitting in the restaurant Keesha took in her surroundings. Taylor had gotten a table near the water fountain out on the deck over looking the river.

"Do you like?" Taylor asked softly.

Keesha looked over at him. Smiling happily, she nodded. "I love it, Taylor." She breathed out, her eyes bright with excitement. "It's so beautiful here."

Immensely pleased with her answer, Taylor smiled at her. "No, Keesha." He said shaking his head. "You are beautiful. This scenery is just nice to look at. As, you, well you are a pleasure to look at."

Crimson stained Keesha's cheeks as the heat spread over her face once again. "Thanks." She mumbled smiling sheepishly, as her eyes avoided his for a moment.

"I'm sorry." Taylor said laughing lightly. "I didn't mean to make you blush."

The apology only made her cheeks burn more.

"You know, now that I do think about it, why don't you model, Keesh?" Taylor asked seriously as he leaned forward more across the table.

Keesha looked thoughtful for a moment, but shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. Never really thought about it I guess. I mean I'd probably have to eat like a bird."

Taylor smiled softly at that. "Keesh, you already do eat like a bird."

"I do not!" Keesha defended herself.

"Oh, come on." Taylor replied. "You can't even order an appetizer before your meal 'cause if you do then you won't be able to finish your main course." He said; calmly pointing out the truth.

Keesha's cheeks flushed once more and she leaned back in her chair with her arms folded across her chest. "Yeah, well." She mumbled, knowing that'd she lost.

Taylor smiled at her. "Come on. Let's get you home." He said as he got up.

"No!" Keesha said quickly. Too quickly actually. "Let's…let's…let's have some umm…uhh..dessert! Yeah, yeah. Let's have some dessert."

He sighed sitting back down and giving her an inquiring look, "You're stalling aren't you?" He asked sympathetically, his hand touching her elbow.

Keesha stared at the top of the table. "What makes you say that?" She mumbled.

Taylor sighed again. "Just the small fact that you never eat dessert after a meal and that you're mumbling again." He pointed out coolly. "You only mumble when you're embarrassed and-or when you get caught doing something."

"Oh." Keesha answered quietly.

"Oh, is right." Taylor said as he took his hand and placed it over hers. "Keesh, I'll be right there with you. Nothing can go wrong and I won't let anything hurt you, ok?"

All he got was silence.

"Keesh?" He asked soflty. "Keesha, do you trust me?"

Keesha looked up at him with watery eyes. "Of course I trust you." She answered truthfully.

Taylor nodded. "Then let's go." He said gently as he squeezed her hand slightly.

He stood, and held his hand out to her. A few seconds passed before Keesha nodded her head and let Taylor help her out of her chair.

"If anything goes wrong, you owe me big time." Keesha said as Taylor closed her door and went around to the passenger's side to seat himself in her car. He was laughing.

Upon opening the front door to Keesha's house, she called out, "Mom?" Taking her key out of the lock, she called again, "Mom?" She turned to Taylor and shrugged after he walked in after her.

Taylor mimmicked her shrug, and looked around. "Maybe we should try the library?" He suggested.

Nodding, Keesha agreed. "Yeah." She voiced nervously as she took the hand Taylor offered her, and walked towards the library.

Voices were loud and booming when Keesha opened the door.

"She's mine now!" The voice said harshly. It was a man's. "She was supposed to be mine when she turned sixteen. Yet, you somehow managed to twist the judge's decision and kept her here!"

"I don't twist anything, Hunter!" Asia shouted.

Keesha leaned up against Taylor. "I don't want this." She whispered to him. "I don't want this, Taylor. I don't want to be here. Not with him."

When she looked up at him, she saw that his jaw was clenched tightly and he was nodding slowly. His eyes seemed transfixed on the scene that lay before them.

She then noticed that his grip on her hand tightened intensely and she had to hit him several times before he noticed and let her hand. He quickly lead her to the kitchen and he got her some ice.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He repeated incesantly.

Keesha smiled wanely at his concern. She slowly placed her unhurt hand on his shoulder. "Taylor, it's ok."

Her eyes caught his, "It was an accident. I saw your face. You didn't even know you were doing it." She said softly.

Taylor looked away. Ashamed of himself. He promised himself and he swore to her that he would never hurt her. And he did just that.

"Don't, Taylor." Keesha said softly as she read his facial expression.

"Don't what?" Taylor croaked out.

"Don't look like you are the lowest person on earth." She answered.

Taylor looked at her before he looked away again. "Keesha, I can't help it. I always promised you that I would never ever hurt you." He touched her hurt hand lightly with his fingertips. "And that's just what I've done."

Keesha placed her hands on both sides of Taylor's face. Forcing him to look at her. "Look." She said softly as he shut his eyes. "I love you." She whispered softly.

Taylor opened his eyes to that. "Even after I hurt you?" He questioned her.

Keesha smiled at him. "Taylor, it was an accident." She stated.

He nodded his head slowly, then he smiled weakly at her. "I love you too, Keesh." He said before he kissed her softly.

"What is going on in here?!" The loud male voice from the library boomed.

Keesha and Taylor instantly pulled apart, but not very far.

Looking up, Keesha saw a tall thin man. He was smiling though. A friendly smile too.

"Keesha." He asked gently.

She nodded carefully after staring at him for a moment.

"I'm your father." He replied in a business-like tone.

She grabbed for Taylor's hand at that statement.
