Part V

"Keesh, you awake?" Taylor asked softly as he gently knocked on her bedroom door.

Usually she was awake way before ten, now it seemed as if she just didn't want to get out of bed. Well who can blame her? He asked himself as he cursed silently.

The door opened slowly and Taylor saw Keesha standing back away from the door. She looked like she didn't sleep well that night, or at all really, but she was dressed and seemed a bit apprehensive.

"Hey." She said forcing a smile. She was happy to see him, he saw that much in her eyes. But her shoulders sagged as if the weight of the world had taken a permanent residence there.

"You okay?" Taylor asked as he gave her lips a quick soft peck.

Carefully, as if thinking about it first, Keesha nodded her head. "Sure. I'm okay." She answered avoiding his eyes as she replied.

"Nice try, Keesh." He said quietly.

Keesha shrugged her heavy shoulders. "What can I say? At least I tried."

Taylor laughed lightly and they started their descent down the stairs and into the library. Her parents were supposed to have been in there. And they were, waiting patiently for her.

Keesha automatically grabbed Taylor's hand for comfort and regretted waking up at all that morning. She knew that this was going to be a very long and a very hard day. For everyone.

"Keesha, I am here because I get custody of you now." Hunter started slowly as soon as Keesha and Taylor sat down on one of the black plush leather couches.

Keesha nodded her head absentmindedly. She already knew that much. It was what kept her up most of the night.

"But Asia thinks that you should stay under her custody." He told her quietly, obviously not wanting that at all.

Again Keesha only nodded her head. This she knew also.

"We need for you to decide what you want. You have to decide who you are going to stay with." Asia butted in quickly.

Keesha looked at her mother and then her father. Then she looked at Taylor desperately. She didn't want to have to make this decision. She wanted the decision to be made her for her.

He was looking at her sadly. Not really pitying her. But pitying the fact that she was placed in this situation of true unfairness.

Keesha looked back up at her parents. "I," She started cautiously. Looking as if she were a deer trapped in headlights.
