Part VI

Without really thinking about it, Hunter stood up quickly and angrily. "NO!" He voice thundered in the silent and tense room.

Keesha, Asia, and Taylor looked at him sharply. Curious of his outburst.

His hand ran through his hair. "I don't want her to have to choose." He confessed shakily. "She doesn't deserve to be put in that position, Asia."

Hunter looked at her pointedly before looking at Keesha. His voice softened drastically. "Give her time to get to know me, and then we'll have this discussion again." He paused for a second. "That is, if Keesha wants to."

Keesha swallowed hard, there were some many questions about her past she wanted to ask. And she had the feeling that what she was told was not quite entirely the truth. She needed the answers about the visions and images she'd been seeing. Maybe her father knew about those at least.

Slowly she looked at her mother who was deeply interested in her hands that were placed neatly and firmly in her lap. She studied her father who studied her. Then she turned to Taylor, affectionately he squeezed her hand slightly.

And that was all the reassurance that Keesha needed before she agreed to it. "Yes." She announced softly.

Asia's head snapped up, Keesha watched her reaction. "I want to get to know you." Her voice shook. "Father."

It was settled then that Mr. Hunter Traynor was now going to be staying in the Reed residence for him to get reacquainted with his daughter Keesha.

"Taylor, do you think I made the right decision?" Keesha asked softly as they walked slowly into the living room.

They sat together on the sofa; Keesha leaning up against Taylor and Taylor with both arms wrapped tightly and safely around her.

He kissed the back of her head gently. "Keesh, you know I have a very large family." He stated softly.

Keesha didn't know where he was going with this but nodded her head.

"I live with both of my parents. And I see how my father is with the younger ones and how he is with Zac, Ike, and I." He said gently. "I could not imagine him not being there. Not having one him in my life."

Slowly his words sunk in. Keesha thought carefully about her father. "But I don't remember my father even being around." She commented drily.

She felt his arms tighten around her and responded, "Yeah, but if you give him a chance..."

Keesha could only nod her head slowly in agreement. She envied Taylor for his family. True they were not extremely perfect, but they did have each other, and they were there for each other. She on the other hand, only had him.

"Do you think my father did those things to me?" She asked quietly. She wasn't really asking him, but she knew she was going to get an answer.

Taylor sighed softly and placed his cheek against her head. "From what I gathered from just talking with him, I cannot, for the life of me, see him doing those things to you, Keesh." He felt her tense up and quickly replied, "But it doesn't mean that he didn't."

"I know." Keesha whispered. Her voice was choked in emotion and with unshed tears. I know. Echoed off the walls of her brain.
