Part III

Shannon walked in the kitchen and saw Shana with a napkin over her nose. She stared at her and cracked a smile. "You ran into a door again, didn't you?" She asked laughing.

Shana smiled remembering that day that she forgot to open the door all the way. She had a small cut on her lip, which her father starved them after that; saying that they were too stupid and not worth feeding.

That was one of the things that both girls didn't tell their new family, but soon they would find out everything in court.

"No, the door ran into me." Shana smiled. "It was Taylor's fault. We were walking in and he shut the door in my face. Prick." She cursed him.

Shannon laughed, "That boy is not right." She said shaking her head.

Isaac walked into the kitchen, "We're going to get your stuff today, and Casey called us to a small court hearing."

Shann and Shana looked at each other. There was silence.

"Dad is going to help with your stuff." Isaac continued to explain.

"Are you coming?" Shana asked.

"Yeah, Zac, Tay, and I are going to be there." He stated.

"What about the others?" Shannon asked.

"Mom."

"Oh." Shannon stated.

At that time Taylor walked in. "Shana, again I'm sorry about your nose." Taylor laughed as he handed her some toilet paper.

"That's okay." Shana laughed, "So, when are we going?"

"As soon as you two are ready." Isaac answered.

- The Road To Their House -

Walker and Diana had the front seats. Walker was driving. Isaac and Zac had the two seats behind them, and Shana, Shannon, and Taylor had the very back seats.

Shannon kept still the whole time. While Shana just looked out the window praying that when they got to her house after court, her dad wouldn't be there.

The only noise in the van was the radio and Zac and Isaac's singing.

Shana would snap out of her trance and sing a few lines of songs that she knew.

- After Court -

Shana sighed, as they pulled in the driveway.

The car stopped and Zac slowly opened the door. Shana noticed that her father's car wasn't there.

She sighed in relief as she stepped out of the van. She walked up to the door and turned the knob, surprisingly it was unlocked. She slowly walked in, Shannon behind her, then Isaac, Walker, Zac, and last Taylor. Diana had stayed in the car.

Shana quickly walked back into her and Shannon's room, Shannon was still behind her.

"Get only clothes, nothing else matters." Shannon stated as Shana started to violently rip the clothes off the hangers.

Shannon stepped up to help her.

"We don't have time." Shana sighed, "He'll be home any minute."

"I know just get what you can." Shannon answered back.

Zac walked into the room and looked around. Holes in the walls, and in spots it looked like faded blood, that wasn't bad because it looked that way around the whole house.

"Zac," Shana stated. "If you could, get these clothes." She backed away from the closet. She ran over to the small dresser that contained more clothes, she opened one of the dressers up and stated to shove clothes in a small bag that she got from the bottom of her closet.

Taylor walked in and looked around, it looked the same as most of the house.

The holes, the cracks… the blood.

"Taylor, help me with this." Shana said as she told him to open every drawer and place clothing items in there.

He did as he was asked.

Shana ran over to a small placed behind her dresser, she stuck her arm behind it and got a small notebook.

"Taylor, stop. That's enough. Come on girls." Walker said as he stuck his head in the doorway. There was no door attached to the doorway.

Walker looked at the center of the room and saw a pile of covers and sheets, where a bed should be laying.

Everyone quickly flooded out of the room, and Walker paused for a moment and looked around, he shook his head in disgust.

By the time Zac, Shana, and Shannon were almost through putting clothes in the back of the van, Shana's father pulled up on the street.

"Oh, shit." Shana mumbled to Shannon.

Shannon could only nod her head in a silent agreement.

Zac turned around and looked.

Shana's father jumped out of the car and headed towards the frightened kids.

The girls saw the fire that occupied his eyes and they were terrified.

Shannon stepped in front of Shana as Shana's father walked up to them.

"Get out of my way." John yelled.

Shannon shook her head, knowing what he was going to do, and she was right.

He quickly struck Shannon on the side of her head, knocking her to the ground.

Shana shuttered, he grabbed her shirt and pulled her to the ground, "What the hell is going on?" He yelled at her as he lifted his hand to strike her.

She didn't answer.

"ANSWER ME!" He yelled before he hit her.

Her lip started bleeding, and she winced in pain.

"YOU THINK THAT HURTS?! I'LL SHOW YOU PAIN!" He yelled as he raised his fist.

"HEY!" Zac yelled.

John spun around and looked at him.

"Don't hit her!" Zac yelled again.

"WHAT IN HELL GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO TO MY PROPERTY?!" He yelled once again.

Zac was paralyzed.

John walked up to him and slammed his body against the back of the van.

Isaac came out of the house smiling, he saw the car and looked back into the house. "DAD! GET OUT HERE NOW!" He yelled fearfully.

He ran out to the yard.

Seeing Isaac, Shana's father let Zac go.

Zac feel to the ground but quickly got up.

John walked over to Isaac, "Who are you?" He asked as he fist balled up again.

"I'm a friend of Shann's and Shana's." He stated looking at the man's hands.

"Get out of my sight, and I won't hurt you." He said evenly in warning tone.

Isaac shook his head, "I'm sorry, but I can't do that."

John grabbed his shirt and pulled him close, he pulled back his fists and Isaac was ready to take a blow.

Taylor ran out before his dad. He ran up to the two.

"Yea, something more to feel my fists." John sneered.

"You must be stupid." Taylor commented.

John turned redder. "What did you say?" He asked.

"I said you were stupid." Taylor repeated.

John pushed Isaac to the ground and went after Taylor.

He threw one lucky punch on the boy before Walker jumped on him and knocked him back onto his car.

"DON'T YOU EVER HIT ONE OF MY CHILDREN!" Walker yelled.

Isaac quickly got up and walked over to Shannon, and helped her up; and she got up and went over to Shana. Isaac went to Taylor. Zac was in near the side of the van.

John reached over to punch Walker, Walker punched him back, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it. CAN YOU?" Walker said before her started to lift up him from the car.

Walker pushed him off, "We're leaving now." He stated as he walked away.

John shook off Walker's punch and came up behind him.

"DAD!" Zac yelled.

Walker turned around and saw John running towards him.

Walker felt his punch, shook it off, and returned one to John, knocking him to the ground.

Walker quickly got everyone in the van and took off while John was still lying on the ground.

Shannon sat beside Isaac as he looked at the small cut on her head. Taylor by Shana he looked over her lip.
