Part VIII

"Can't you two get a room for that kinda stuff?" Shannon asked raising an eyebrow. "You can make someone lose their appetite."

"Well it is four thirty in the morning, the house is crawling with people." Taylor laughed.

Shannon eyed him sharply, "You still need to get a room."

Taylor stopped laughing then and nodded. "Well, they all seem to be occupied right now."

She shrugged. "Not my problem."

"We can find a room later." Shana laughed as she smiled at her.

Shannon smiled back and then walked past them into the kitchen. She went and got a small glass of water. After drinking it, washing it, drying it, and putting it away she left to go back up to her and Shana's room.

Shana turned to Taylor who was occupied with kissing her neck.

"Taylor, I'm going to go talk to Shann." Shana said as he slowly let go of her.

Taylor looked at her pouting. "Do I get a kiss for letting you go?" He asked hopefully.

Shana eyed him. "I was gonna go no matter what."

Taylor smiled. "But do I get a kiss anyway?"

Shana laughed. "You're hopeless." She said before she kissed him sweetly and deeply.

Afterwards she started to leave, when she got to the door she turned around and smiled at him. "Thanks for your ding dong." She said laughing before she left.

She heard Taylor's laughter as she went up the stairs.

“Shann?" Shana knocked on the door.

Shannon opened the door, looked at Shana, and then turned and walked back into the room.

-

Shana looked at her father from across the courtroom, then slowly she placed her head in her hands, and on the table.

Shannon looked at her and gently patted her back.

Walker looked at the two girls as her father approached the witness stand.

Casey slowly got up, she held her head high. “Now Mr. Evans, you claim that you love your children right?” She asked slowly.

John nodded his head.

“Then why do they have marks a bruises, sores, and welts all over their bodies?” Casey asked as he approached him.

“Because they’re evil, evil children.” John stated shaking his head.

Casey nodded, “Uh huh, and is that why you go out EVERY night and get intoxicated and beat them? Because they are evil?”

“Yes.” John nodded.

“No further questions, your Honor.” Casey said as she walked back to her table.

The judge looked down at John, “You may step down.”

John did so and walked back to his table where he sat alone. He refused to have hired a lawyer for something as stupid as this.

Casey looked over at Shannon. “I call Miss Shannon Evans to the stand.” She stated clearly.

Shannon looked at Shana as she sat down in the witness stand.

“Now Shannon, could you please describe for me and the court what it was like living in that household.” Casey said softly as she walked across the courtroom.

Shannon looked up at her then glanced over at Isaac as he stared at her. “First off, we HAD to have our morning beating when he got up, we both did. Then it was breakfast, we ate nothing, after we had to cook his food we had to watch him eat it in front of us."

"If we so much as dare to ask for some, he would grab us by our hair and slam our heads on the table until we were out. If we so much and ate anything, he would grab us and place our head in the refrigerator and slam it on our neck ‘til he grew tried."

"Between then we would have make sure he had enough beer. And we had to do yard-work. And clean the house. Then at supper we had to fight for our food from the dogs. He starved them just so he could see us scramble for food.”

“And what kind of dogs do you have?” Casey questioned.

“Pit bulls.” Shannon responded.

“And what did you have to sleep on?” Casey asked.

“Two covers in the middle of the floor in our room. There were roaches, rats, and other bugs crawling around freely.” Was Shannon’s answer as she shook her head.

“That is all sweetie, you may step down.” The judge smiled encouragingly at her.

“I call Miss Shana Evans to the stand next.” Casey said with a soft sigh.

Taylor sat straight up in his seat beside Isaac.

Shana held her head up as Casey walked towards her.

“Shana, I have read the doctors reports and they saw that there has been some foul play...” Casey said carefully.

Shana remained still.

“Has your father ever umm,” Casey thought of a way to put her question into correct terms, “Have unfit relations with you?” She asked.

Shana looked down and then over at Taylor.

He stared at her with eyes that were needing to hear the truth.

“Yes.” Shana mumbled in a dry tone looking down.

“Could you please explain to the court what ALL happened?” Casey asked gently.

Shana nodded slowly, “Umm first he would wait until Shannon was asleep, and then he would tell me he had to talk with me. But I... I um knew what he wanted. Then he would take me in to his headroom and close the door. And then he would make me lay on the bed, he would tie me to the bed, and…. re.... remo... mmmm ... mmmmy.”

Shana began to hold back her tears, finding each word harder to say.

Taylor moved forward with anger in his eyes, Isaac instantly placed his hand on his shoulder. “Let it go, bro. Let it go.” He told him softly but sternly.

“He would tell me that I was a dog and that I was only here on earth for his enjoyment. Then he would whip me with the metal part of a belt, my bare skin could hardly take it. He would also make me...” Shana explained slowly.

-

Taylor placed his head on top of Shana’s head, he kissed her head gently. “I love you, Shana, never for get that...” Taylor whispered, “And no matter what, you have been through, I will be here for you ALWAYS.”

Shana held Taylor closer to her body. “Kiss me.” She told him softly.

Taylor gazed softly down at her and smiled, he lifted his head and she lifted hers, he pressed his lips to hers.

“I can’t believe someone could that that to anybody...” Taylor said softly.

“Well do, because it happened, it happens.” Shana said dryly.
