21 THINGS I WANT IN LOVE

"Shut up!" Zac said laughing. "You're so lying and you know it."
Abby shook her head. "Uh uh. I am so telling the truth on this one," she admitted solemnly.
He rolled his eyes. "You need to stop going out in public."
"Well, duh," Abby replied sarcastically. "People are scary and I am anti-social. But I needed shampoo. And that sign… it just...fell…" She laughed suddenly. "It attacked me!"
"After you jumped up to touch it," Zac concluded rationally.
Abby grinned. "Well… yeah. But I've always done that! We used to do that!"
"Yeah, but when we did it you weren't this tall either!" Zac reminded her.
She scratched the side of her head. "Ok…that's true. But the sign got its revenge!"
"And how did it do that, Abby?" Zac asked, almost wincing knowing that he shouldn't have.
"It broke my sunglasses," she told him seriously as she dug out the remains from her coat pocket.
Zac shook his head. "You definitely need therapy and definitely should not be allowed in public."
She grinned cheekily and put her head on his shoulder. "I know. But you still love me anyway."
"God knows why," he answered sighing.
Abby nodded. "I'm sure he does. Maybe… when you get up there, if you do, you could ask him."
"If I do?" Zac asked shoving her off.
   She smiled cheekily. "Uh huh."
He shoved her again. "Of course I'm gonna make it up there! I'm putting up with you. That makes me a saint!"
Abby tilted her head to the side. "Really? Well… if I die before you…"
Zac snorted. "Not likely. You're probably what's going to end up killing me."
Ignoring his comment Abby continued, "If I die before you, you better hope it's not me meeting you up at the gates, Bubba."
Zac shuddered at the thought. "Very true. I hope it with all my heart that you don't."
She started laughing hysterically. "And you better pray it's not Tay either!"
Zac laughed. "He'd be the only one that goes, 'now, what robe go with these sandals'?"
Abby covered her mouth t stifle some of her laughter before blurting out, "Like Tay even knows what goes with what!"
She couldn't get the image out of her head. "I'd be the only going 'That's a trick question! You can't fool me! I've seen you dress yourself!"
"Or he'd be like, 'does this halo make my head look big'?" Zac added.
Abby shook her head. "Nope. But his ears do!"
Smiling and trying hard not to chuckle Zac pushed her again. "Leave him be. He's a married man and a daddy now."
"Yeah, I am," a voice said behind them.
Abby bit her lip, leaned back against the cushions, and looked up. "Zac started it," she told him quickly.
Zac rolled his eyes. "I'm never inviting you over again."
Abby winked at Taylor and looked back at Zac. "I bet you say that to all the girls."
He pursed his lips wryly. "Yeah. Right. Sure I do, Abby."
"Zac actually just tells them not to steal his shorts," Taylor inserted as he stepped up to the back of the couch, a cute bundle in his arms.
"Does he do any tricks now?" Abby asked as she turned around and knelt on the cushions to get a better look at Ezra.
Taylor looked insulted. "He's not a puppy, Abby!"
Zac opened his mouth and without looking away from Abby Taylor shot out, "Shut up, Zac."
Laughing, Zac stretched his arm out to tickle Ezra's chin. "I guess we'll be keeping this little one around for a while, huh?"
Taylor grinned and bounced his son in his arms. "Yes." He looked at Abby pointedly. "You haven't lived until you've had a kid," he said proudly before passing on and heading for one of the bedrooms to lay his kid down in.
"Hey, Zac," Abby whispered as she leaned towards Zac as he started drinking from his water glass. "Remind me not to live, okay?"
He snorted with laughter, causing water to leak from his mouth and nose.
"Ew," she groaned. "That's gross. And people find you attractive?"
"Nobody finds anyone attractive when you're around," Zac explained dryly.
   Abby grinned proudly. "I know."
"Ok," she said as she pointed to the TV. "Remember in 'Say Anything' and John Cusak's character Lloyd gave his heart to Ion Sky's character Diane basically for a pen?"
   Zac nodded. "Yes. Vaguely."
She nodded too. "Well, what would you give your heart for?"
He closed his eyes and moaned. "A cheeseburger?"
She smacked herself in the forehead. "You mean that's all it would have taken? A cheeseburger?" she groaned. "Why didn't you tell me this when I had money?"
He grinned. "For you," he held up two fingers. "Two DOUBLE cheeseburgers."
   She elbowed him sharply. "Jerk."
Zac elbowed her back. "Hey, at least I'm not cheap."
She giggled and tried to sit up straight. She looked at him expectantly.
   Zac looked around curiously. "What?"
Abby rolled her eyes. "Well aren't you going to ask me what I would sell my heart for?"
Zac rolled his eyes too. "Ok. What would you sell your heart for, Abby?"
   She smiled wistfully. "A keychain."
He wrinkled his nose. "Just a keychain? Any keychain?"
She shook her head. "Not just any keychain!" she replied indignantly. "One with a cool saying on it!"
"And that's what you would give your love for? Truthfully?" Zac asked her curiously.
Abby bit her lip and thought seriously for a moment. "I'm sure there's certain things I want in a guy for me to love them."
"But what if, you're just taking a guess at it? Like a stab in the dark?" Zac questioned her.
She shrugged. "If I stab enough times, surely I'm bound to hit someone."
Zac grinned at her reasoning and nodded as well. He leaned back and propped his feet up on the coffee table. "I'm sure you'll end up hitting someone, Abby."
Later that night Zac got an e-mail titled "21 Things I Want In Love".

He started wondering if there were any clowns that were single. Then bet there was a lot of them that were.
