# 13

"First off, you have no idea what it is like to be kept away from something that you truly love." Shana started slowly as she looked up at Shannon.

"Shana, and I started doing music about seven or eight months ago. We traveled a bit and met the famous band Hanson on our little tour bus." Shannon continued. She smiled when realization hit the guys. "We were actually offered a record deal later that day. A very good one too."

"But our families decided to stop and pulled Shannon and I apart." Shana said quietly. "Our world that we had known crashed right down at our feet that day. Along with the future we had planned out for ourselves."

Shannon shook her head at this. "Everything that we had ever wanted was never given to us. We worked like everyone did. And we worked at music. Four sometimes five hours a day were spent perfecting the right pitches, the words, the beat to just one song."

"It was the coolest thing in the world." Shana commented. "We loved doing music and we loved each other more than our families."

"We became each other's family." Shannon interrupted. "They wouldn't let us see each other or even talk to each other after we were offered that contract."

Shana nodded her head. "When they decided to keep us apart, we decided to keep us together."

"And so we had decided to run away. And we did. We got all the material that we needed for us to prove that we were actually Skyye and Izzy Sheyde. Being Shana and Shannon were just dreams. Figments of our over-active imaginations." Shannon whispered calmly.

Then she cleared her throat. "Our life with our families became imaginary. We made our way through the music biz and got us another record deal. And that brings us to today basically." Shannon finished as she looked at the guys.

All three just stared at them. In shock.

"Any questions?" Shana asked smiling.

"Why'd they keep you apart?" Zac questioned curiously.

Shannon shrugged uncomfortably at his question. "They had said that we were too young to know what we wanted and that we'd get caught up in it all. That are heads would swell and we'd hate each other afterwards."

Shana shook her head. "They had pegged us as friends who just used each other to get what we wanted."

"And when they figured out that we were more than what sisters could be, well they were furious." Shannon said as she also shook her head. "They decided that we needed to be kept apart, and so they did."

"Or at least tried to." Shana commented smiling.

"Tried to." Shannon echoed her head nodding slowly in agreement.

"So you two were in the tour bus that time?" Taylor asked.

Shannon laughed lightly and smiled. "Yeah. When you three took shelter in our small tour bus that one morning. Having dozens of screaming girls wake me from my sleep."

Taylor laughed. "That was actually quite funny."

"No, I liked what happened to you after you had decided to leave much better." Shannon replied mischievously.

Zac was quiet for a moment. Then he snapped his fingers. "When you decided to call the fans on us." He declared jumping up on the bed.

"Yup." Shannon laughed as Zac jumped up and down on the bed for a few minutes before he plopped back down.

"That was funny." He said smiling cheekily.

Shannon looked at him and smiled. She looked over at Taylor and saw that he was talking to Shana. She smiled to herself and noticed that Isaac was sitting on the other bed now. She got up and moved next to him. "You okay?" She asked lightly touching his shoulder.

He shrugged her off quickly. "Fine." He said as he got up and left.

She turned and looked at Zac and he shrugged his shoulders. Shannon went to Shana's bag and gave Zac her Discman. "Listen to what you like. We have quite a selection." She said motioning to all the c.d.'s that were sitting neatly in large piles.

Zac smiled at her warmly. "You know what Izz--oops, I mean Shannon?" He questioned.

"What?" Shannon asked smiling warmly at him.

"I think that it's cool that you and Sk-Shana decided to make music anyway." He said before he pulled on the earphones and selected a c.d. from the hundreds that were there before him.

Shannon smiled to herself before she went to go see Isaac who was now on her balcony. "Do you want to talk?" She asked softly as she stood at the doorway leading to the balcony.

Isaac was bent over slightly leaning on the cement, that acted as a railing, and looked over the small view the hotel gave of the big city. "Are you going to lie to me again?" He questioned.

"Are you going to brush me off again?" Shannon questioned him harshly. "I know that I lied to you, I knew that it was wrong. But do you think that I actually had a choice about it?" She questioned him. "Do you think I get this big kick out of lying to everyone I meet?"

He turned around and stared at her, long and hard. "I don't know what to think." He admitted truthfully.

Shannon rolled her eyes. "Doesn't telling the truth count for something?"

Isaac sighed. He looked out at the view again.

Shannon went to the other side of the balcony and looked at the view from that side. "I'm not asking for you to forgive and forget this." She started softly. "Or even to ignore that it even happened, or whatever. All I am asking you is to let it go. I lied. I know it. But I had to. To protect Shana and I. To protect what we have in music and in friendship."

She looked over at him through tearful eyes. "As the oldest in your family I thought that you might understand." She shrugged her shoulders slightly and slowly. "I guess I was wrong."

Shannon gave him one last glance before she went back inside the room.

Isaac bent back over the cement to stare at the view again. He thought about what Shannon said.

~ Shana's and Taylor's Point Of Views ~

"So you actually lived without anything for a week?" He questioned in shock.

Shana nodded. "Yup. It was hard but Shannon promised we would be all right and I knew she was telling the truth. So we kept going. Even when one of us would start talking about giving up and going back home, we just continued on." She said quietly.

Her and Taylor were still sitting on the bed and they watched as Shannon went over to Isaac on the bed. He brushed her off though and left her.

"That's harsh." Shana said quietly as Shannon went over to Zac.

Taylor shrugged a little. "Not to be mean or anything, but she did lie to him." He pointed out. When he saw the look on Shana's face he quickly added, "But I do understand the reasons why. And I know that Ike knows them too, but he just doesn't believe that anyone should have to lie."

Shana slowly watched as Shannon went out onto the balcony. "People shouldn't have to lie." She agreed. "But we needed to. We are going to lose everything that we have when our video comes out."

Taylor looked at her in confusion. "Why?" He asked.

Looking at him Shana replied, "Because by that time our families will see our faces and know what's going on and it won't be that hard to find us."

Taylor nodded and he understood.

Shana leaned her head onto his shoulder. "Don't you ever wish that that one thing you've wanted so badly and so much would actually be easy to get and to have?" She questioned.

"Yeah." He answered. "But it won't be handed to you on a silver platter."

"Hell, I wouldn't mind it being on a freakin' napkin right now." Shana said as Shannon walked back in.

Shannon went and laid down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling and ignoring everyone else. Zac went over to her and just lay next to her. They didn't move or talk. They just stared at the ceiling.

Shana smiled at this and Taylor chuckled a little. "Aww, ain't they cute?" Shana asked laughing.

A few minutes Isaac walked back and said that it was time for them to leave. The guys did have to leave for a meeting and they exchanged a few good byes. Shannon stayed on her bed and said a weak goodbye to Zac and Taylor while she continued to stare at the ceiling. She just nodded her head for her good-bye to Isaac and he did the same. Then they left.

"So what happened between you an Ike?" Shana asked carefully.

Shannon turned her head and looked at her. "He's hung up on me lying." She said before she looked back up at the ceiling. "I'm turning in early." She said as she got up and started to take out her contacts. "I'm tired and I just want this day to end."

Shana nodded and she got ready for bed too. Even though it was only a little past four in the evening. After they got ready they laid in their beds. Each in deep thoughts about what had happened that day.
