Chapter Four

After getting their stuff out of the den Taylor went to their room and put on pajamas and Ike joined him after he had brushed his teeth.

“Let’s go.” Ike said taking some of the stuff from Taylor’s already full arms. They went across the hall and knocked on Alex’s door. Alex got up confusedly and went to the door. There stood her two big brothers.

“May we join you?” Ike asked.

Alex stood there puzzled, “You want to spend the night with me?”

“Yeah. We’ll make it like a slumber party. We'll do what ever you want to.” Taylor said, “However we have no idea what girls do during slumber parties.” He said with a smile.

Alex smiled so big that it looked as though her whole face was consumed with the smile. She opened the door as wide as it would go and the boys came in and set up camp beside her. She put a movie in and the three watched movies for a couple of hours. Making comments about the movies as they watched them, eating popcorn and just having fun.

Alex smiled when the last movie was shut off. She had an idea. She went to her dresser drawers and pulled out hair bands in an array of colors, shapes, and seizes.

“What are you doing?” Ike asked smiling.

“You said that we could make this like a girls slumber party so I’m going to play with your hair.” She said matter-of-factly, but the grin gave it away that she was going to enjoy this way more that she would if she was with Jessie and Avie.

She got behind Ike and began brushing his hair and the three began to chat about everything. Before long she had huge bows in his hair.

Diana had gone into the den and seen all of the kids except for Ike and Taylor. Then she asked where they were and all of the boys down there shrugged and one mumbled ‘upstairs’ it may have been her son she had no clue, she smiled and went upstairs.

She heard noise coming from Alex’s room. It was happy noise. She looked in and saw Isaac with bows and such all over his head. She wanted to laugh. First I must get the camera. She retrieved the camera and then opened the door. Now Taylor was getting bows in his hair and Isaac was returning the favor he was putting them all throughout Alex’s hair.

“Smile kids.” She said and snapped pictures. All three of them smiled for the pictures.

After they did hair and chatted some more they all tuckered out and fell asleep on the floor.

The next morning Alex was the first one up. She was still very happy about the night before. She decided that her tummy needed quieting. So she went down stairs and found her mother making breakfast.

“Morning, Mom.”

“Good morning, Alexandra. Did you and your brothers have fun last night?”

“I had a lot of fun. Thank you for asking them to spend the night with me.”

“I didn’t ask them.”

“Then they left Zac to spend the night with me on their own?”

“I guess so.”

“Wow.” She breathed

“Why are you so amazed? They're your brothers, they love you.”

“Well, its Zac's their drummer, their best friend, their little brother. I, the untalented little sister, can’t exactly compete with that.”

Diana opened her mouth to protest her daughter's words when Zac and his friends wandered into the kitchen looking for breakfast.

“Alex, go and get your brothers up to eat.”

“Okay.” She went upstairs and knelt beside a sleeping Taylor and gently rocked his shoulders.

“Tay….Tay….Taylor. Get up please.” He stirred and turned his head and looked at her. “Mommy, said it’s time for breakfast.”

“Okay, thanks.”

She knelt beside Isaac and did the same.
