Walking up the stairs Taylor whistled a tune he'd been working on and tapped the rolled up papers in his hand against his thigh.

Clearing the landing, he walked down the hallway concentrating on the beat in his head. "Girls?" He called out knocking on the door before turning the knob and walking in. "You forgot the music in the library," his last word barely audible.

The scene before him caused him to stumble over his feet. "What's wrong?" He asked abruptly as he straightened rigidly.

His eyes scanning over their small despondent faces. "What's happened?"

They narrowed on Zoë when no one answered him straight away. Moving towards them, he stretched out his arms.

It was all the encouragement they needed to fly into his embrace and be held tightly in a pair of safe, strong arms.

"Tell me what happened." He murmured as they squeezed him and cried into his chest and shoulder.

"Daddy got mad." Angel whimpered. "He yelled at us."

"For what?" He asked, rubbing his cheek against the crown of her head.

Charm shook her head, "we don’t know. We were singing and he ran in screaming at us. Telling us to stop."

Taylor felt his blood slowly start to boil. "Maybe he has good reason." He murmured, "I don't think it's really because of anything you did."

Trying to soothe their fears, Taylor stayed on with them until the emotional exhaustion had them lying down for a short nap.

Flexing his fist, Taylor stalked down the hallway some more and threw the door open to his brother's bedroom.

Watching as his head snapped up, the red rimmed eyes meant nothing to him. "You ass!" He seethed through clenched teeth. "Do you have any damn clue what you just put those girls through?"

Isaac shook his head dazedly. "They were singing her song. I thought I was doing great. Getting better. Thought that the pain was lessening." His face twisted with inner torment, "God Tay!" He cried out in anguish. "I miss her so much!"

Crumpling, Taylor went to his brother, and felt himself hugging another family member. "Come on, Ike." He spoke softly, pulling them both to their feet. "Rest for a while. I can see you're dead tired."

It took him a few minutes, but after getting him settled as well, Taylor stepped out into the hallway and closed the door behind him.

Leaning his head against the wall he let his tears fall freely. Charm's death could still affect them all. She was still too hard to let go.
