"You ready to turn in?" Taylor asked, stretching his arms and back out and yawning. He tossed the book from his lap onto the table with a loud 'thud.'

Isaac looked up from the bankbook and checked his watch. "Yeah," he answered nodding before rubbing his face and neck. Trying to relax the tense muscles there.

"Something wrong, Ike?"

He laughed lightly, "Isn't there always?"

Taylor nodded somberly, "Yes, usually. But what's wrong now?"

Isaac gave a tired smile, "Arie is having some problem up in Washington. There may be a lawyer up there taking on some extra cash flow he shouldn't be."

"Bribery?"

He nodded, "It's what they're thinking. This is something that can ruin the firm reputation, or can just do a couple million dollars worth of damage."

Taylor snorted, "That's all?"

"Yeah." Isaac returned, "that's all."

Shaking his head, he stood up and stretched himself out, working out all the kinks. "Anyway, I doubt if there's anything I can do about it. He was just wondering if Essence can bring Jesse and Kody down for a visit while they work through the investigation."

"Well, there's plenty of room, and Jesse loves the girls, so she can bunk with them." Taylor rubbed his eyes, "how old is Kody now?"

Isaac looked around before he started turning off lights. "Um, I think, he's four now… not sure though."

They stepped out into the hallway, then started up the stairs. "How are the wedding plans coming along?" Isaac asked suddenly, as an image of Lilah popped into his head. "I've been meaning to ask."

Taylor laughed lightly, "Oh, well… they're coming along." He answered smiling. "Lilah's a great help though. She's become invaluable to us in three days time, and we should be able to be done with all the planning shortly."

Isaac grinned over at him as they reached the landing, "Never knew there was so much to a wedding, huh?"

Taylor shook his head, "Oh, no. I thought it'd be quite simple. Randy and Lilah quickly proved that idiotic thought wrong."

Laughing together, they said their goodnights and went to their separate rooms.

And Isaac nearly had a heart attack when sliding into his bed he found a warm body in there waiting for him.

Smiling affectionately, he smoothed Charm's curls from her face and settled down to sleep. Chuckling when she snuggled up to him like Dahven used to.

D. He thought as tears instantly stung his eyes. Her name could still bring on waves of love and pain.

Closing his eyes against it, he fought to keep the pain at bay, and remember the days when she smiled so brightly, and when her laughter rung clear.

Grey eyes stayed with him throughout his dreams. But it wasn't just Dahven's face he saw.
