'Angel Charm'

   “Charm.” Isaac warned gently.
Immediately Charm sat firmly in her seat, “Please pass the biscuits.” She muttered, while two red stains painted her cheeks.
He smiled warmly and passed her the whicker basket filled with the warm rolls that Rosie had made for them that evening.
Angel snickered from her side of the table, but stopped abruptly when Isaac glanced over at her. Instantly a fork of mashed potatoes was shoved into her mouth.
Quietly, Isaac chuckled to himself. His two girls, his two daughters, were brought up to have table manners. Especially with his mom sitting on the other end of the table with his father, Taylor, Randy, Zac, Mackenzie and Zoë.
Winking at the two, he cleared his throat. “Mom, Dad,” He said leaning forward slightly. “We have a…” He took a moment to choose his words. “Proposition for you.”
Mrs. Hanson looked up from her conversation with Taylor and Zac, about having Mackenzie move in with them in Hanson Hall.
“What kind of proposition?” Mr. Hanson asked; also looking up from the conversation that had suddenly died.
“Zoë, Angel, and Charm,” He said smiling at each of the girls. “Have started a band.”
“Another one?” Mrs. Hanson asked grinning.
Taylor and Zac smiled politely, but didn’t laugh as so not to degrade the newest band of the family.
Isaac nodded, “Yes, and since Hanson is still going strong,” He trailed off for a second. “We want to sign them to our label.”
Randy smiled at the two, “Mackenzie and I already have some plans and details worked out.” She told them, “And I’d be managing the girls of course.” She explained hopefully.
Mrs. Hanson turned to her husband, but not before glancing at the large engagement ring on Randy’s finger. Somehow the sight brought back memories of Dahven and she flinched slightly.
Shaking her head, she looked at Walker. “They do seem to have us outnumbered, dear.” She said smiling.
Mr. Hanson shook his head as well, but was laughing lightly. “We get to go through this again.” He said smiling as he rolled his eyes.
But Zoë stood up and tilted her chin the way Charm and Angel always did, a trait they must have inherited from Dahven’s side. “Not again, Daddy.” She stated flatly.
Then she smiled sweetly at her three oldest brothers. “We’ll be better.” She commented shrugging, as she glanced at her band mates.
Isaac, Taylor, and Zac laughed at the remark.
And Zac nodded approvingly at her, “She’s got the attitude, boys.”
But Taylor started shaking his head, before putting it in his hands and groaning. “It’s a mini, even more girlish, Zac and Mackie.”
“Mackenzie.” He corrected leaning back in his seat sullenly. Everyone still tried to baby him by calling him ‘Mackie’ which now, he absolutely despised.
Taylor gave him an apologetic smile, and Mackenzie accepted it by smiling appreciatively back.
Isaac looked around the table at his family.
Jessica and Avery both away at college and due back next weekend. Zac and Taylor were living with him and Charm and Angel at Hanson Hall. Zoë was now part of a band with his two daughters.
And Randy… well Randy was of course engaged to Taylor, but she was now a manager. After Dahven she finished off her record contract, and two years later started managing under Hanson’s label, and moving out of Pennsylvania, and in with their parents.
But Mackenzie had grown up fast, and decided he wanted to be a record producer. Blowing them all away with how much he had learned with just going with them to the recording studios and watching.
Then there was the topic of Zac and Linz. The two having an off and on again relationship. When Linz was in T-town it was on, when she wasn’t visiting it was off.
Grinning, Isaac started to sit back in his chair and enjoy being surrounded by family. He gave an accessing look at his brother Zac. He knew for a fact, that sometime soon, Linz would be wearing an engagement ring as well. He laughed to himself over it.
As for himself… well he never again thought about having someone else to share his life with. His wife was dead yes, but she would not ever be replaced. That spot in his heart was made especially for her, and he would never fill it with something else.
No, his love had come and gone, leaving him a daughter with both D and him in her. That was her gift to him. Now his gift for her, would be long lasting love.
