Asia

That Friday Zac met Asia at the same spot.

“Hey, how be you, Zac?”

“Good. You know, As. I was thinking that we should go to a movie or something. You know we have been talking to each other for over a month and we never do anything. We just sit her and pet this cat and talk.”

“Yeah, what’s wrong with that?”

“Nothing. I was just thinking that we could go to the movies tonight. You know hang out do teenager stuff.”

“I don’t know. I guess that sounds okay to me.” She said hesitantly.

“Come on, I’ll pay. There is a small theater down the street that plays the good movies.”

“Okay, let’s go.”

Zac and Asia headed down the street together.

“Oh, Asia, I almost forgot Isaac said that he will take you to the prom.” He said.

“Really? It’s not too much trouble for him?”

“No, not at all.”

“Can I have his phone number so I can talk to him before we go out? I want to make sure it’s okay with him. Not that I don’t trust you Zac. But I just want to make sure that you didn’t brow beat him into it.”

“Yeah, I understand.” Zac said looking down at the ground. He dug in his pockets and found a piece of paper it actually had been a faded receipt from Starbucks by the studio they were working at. “Do you have a pen?” He asked.

“Yeah, I almost always carry one with me.” She pulled a pen out of her small purse.

He scrawled out the name Isaac and the number. “Here you go.”

“Thanks.” She said putting it neatly into her purse.

The two got the theater. They blinked hard trying to adjust to the light that now filled the room. Zac looked at her blinking. She was a small girl with red hair and brown eyes. Her skin was light and her hair was curly. She was perfect. Isaac will like her. He thought.

She looked at Zac and felt intimidated. He was tall, slender, muscular, he had good hair. Better than mine. She thought.

“You know what?” Zac said looking at her with an odd expression.

“What?”

“This is the first time I’ve ever really seen you.”

“Yeah, you too.”

“That’s sad.” Zac said laughing.

“Yes, it is.” She giggled.

“Come on, let’s go see that movie.”

“You got it.”

The theater was empty except for the two of them. Twenty minutes into the movie they realized why. The movie was horrible.

So the two resorted to doing other things to keep themselves entertained. It all started when Asia looked over at Zac and threw popcorn at him. Well not to be out done Zac dumped his entire tub of popcorn over her head.

They both laughed and proceeded to throw popcorn at each other. Then Asia got up to dodge popcorn and she hid behind chairs. What started out as a simple popcorn fight turned into all out war. The movie ended and there was popcorn all over the theater. They looked around smiled sheepishly and ran for the exit.

“Wow, that was fun Zac.”

“Yeah, it was.”

“I’m so glad I have a friend like you.”

“I’m glad you are my friend.”

“Well, I’m gonna go. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Yeah, you need to call Isaac.”

“I will, don’t worry.”

“Bye.”

“Bye.”
